The park is gorgeous, there are some really nice sites, & Josh and the team at the front desk were great! Extremely polite & friendly. BUT Do not camp here if you enjoy talking to the people in your group. Within 2 hours of being there, one of the wardens pulled up & warned us for “excessive noise” from a complaint they received. This was at 3pm, with casual conversations & some low volume music playing in the background (This was not a radio free zone) & we also had no neighbours around us at the time. After that, the wardens were constantly patrolling past our site, and even warned one of my friends for holding a beer on the edge of our site... later that same day at around 10pm, we received another “excessive noise” complaint and were told that the next time would be an $180 fine, our vehicles would be towed & we would be cabbed off the property. This “complaint” was the result of our group sitting around the picnic table talking w low music. Next morning, we woke up to the Wardens back at our site, requesting to see our site permit & telling us that they have been briefed on our group from the previous warden. This guy, I believe his name was Steve, again threatened us with the $180 fine, & the vehicle’s being towed. When we asked what the park classifies as excessive noise, his exact response was “If i am standing on the road at the edge of your site, and I can hear you talking or your music, that is excessive noise”. We immediately packed up, got a refund on our remaining 3 nights & left because we knew they would probably be back within a couple of hours with another “complaint”. The park is great, but the Warden’s constant harassment & obvious power tripping make it hard to enjoy. I have been camping at ontario parks for years & have never been treated in such a way. Will not be back & I will definitely be steering everyone I can away...

Park is located directly next to hwy 7 making it extremely noisy. We had two lots (16&17) which were decent minus the fact that the only thing between us and the busy hwy was a simple gate. Every day, we noticed a strange man walk through the gate onto the park property and fill up multiple large containers of water or he simply just went for a walk around the grounds. We later noticed that this man is a resident from across the street. Not quite sure what was up with that. The site we were at (16) was littered with stuff left over from the previous people who stayed at the lot. The beaches were nice but small and got busy quite fast. We did although enjoy renting a kayak and paddle board. The worst part about this particular park are the wardens! They patrol at least every five minutes all day and harass people about “excessive noise”? My dad was playing music (at a normal volume) and was told by a warden at 8:30pm to turn it way down and off by 10…night 2 she threatened to ticket him when he asked what he was doing wrong. Again it was only 8:30pm and his music was by no means loud. Afterwards we noticed that they patrolled more frequently around our sites and even flashing their flashlights into my parent’s camper come 10pm!? I should also mention that there was no complaints by other campers about the music. Completely unacceptable and they seem to be on a complete power trip. No where on the website does it say there is a restriction on music so we don’t understand what their problem was. I don’t recommend camping here if you want to enjoy yourselves, unless you want to feel constantly harassed for making “noise” when beside a super LOUD hwy. Will not be returning to this...

I see a lot of reviews that complain about either the highway noise or the park wardens.

First of all, if you do your research BEFORE you arrive at the park, then you would know it's located right next to a highway and the noise from traffic is to be expected. If you're going to bash the park because you didn't do your research, then you clearly have a smooth brain and you should probably go explore elsewhere.

Second of all, the park is actually closed right now - meaning you cannot park or camp inside the park. I took my dog for his 3rd birthday to explore the park on Oct 25th, it was our first time visiting and I knew it was closed but the parking gate was half open so I assumed it was okay to go around it and park closer to the Discovery Trail. You know what they say about making assumptions? Well we were followed by a white truck and it took me a few minutes to realize it wasn't another visitor, but the park wardens. I was extremely embarrassed when they told me I wasn't supposed to be driving inside the park, but they were SO KIND and helpful. They guided us back to the front office and told us to enjoy ourselves. I'm so grateful that they caught us, otherwise we could have been locked inside the park. Thank you to the 2 friendly park wardens that helped us out, its because of your patience that we were able to enjoy the park and create memories that will last a lifetime.

The park itself was absolutely gorgeous and very clean. The Discovery Trail was challenging in some areas, but overall was a great experience. The fall colours were beautiful, the views all around were unforgettable. We hope to...
