So I was expecting a really calm and really happy and relaxing day with smiling nice professional staff. So maybe thatâs why I was disappointed? I would normally give this 2 or 3 stars but the fields were actually so pretty so the flowers and the bees boost this to a 4 star.
So I was disappointed because the whole staff just seemed really unprofessional. It felt like a family grew a field of lavenders, and then said âhey we can make money by having people pay to sit hereâ. Itâs way too overpriced even for a once in a lifetime experience. $119 for two hours was not worth it. The only reason I booked a spot for 5 was because someone cancelled and the only option was for 5. But I couldnât even find a 5th who wanted to go so I had to pay for two people!! And I DONât EVEN LIKE LAVENDERS :( but the stupidest thing is FIVE PEOPLE DONâT FIT! It should have been a booking for 4!!! Iâll explain more below
When we asked what non alcoholic drinks there were, there was no menu, there was no list, there was nothing that was complete or coherent. The staff didnât even list them all off for us. They listed the first few and then trailed off. I had also ordered a vegetarian box in the survey that asks what you want. I said one vegetarian box and two regular boxes. They gave us 3 regular boxes and their reasoning was because our vegan needed the vegetarian box, and they didnât have a vegan box, then they just gave us 3 meat boxes. But come on, whatâs better, giving the vegan a meat box or a vegetarian box? Everyone in our group was stunned a the lack of logic on that one. At first they fought me on that pointđ telling me that a vegan should be accepting the meat box. She ended up offering store credit only because I pulled up my email and showed them where I had selected 1 vegetarian box
The seats were really cramped. If someone is overweight they wonât fit. The table for 5 is a table for 4 and three people need to squish under a table where the table legs get in your way. Itâs very uncomfortable for 5. The photos on the Instagram account are wrong. I never saw a table that had that much space around it on the actual fields. To get to the tables you also need to hop over a row of flowers. So someone who has arthritis or is really short or who is elderly, cannot reach a table. They can make little wooden stairs to help with that and remove them after 8pm
When itâs sunny, there is no break from the sun. It beats down on you so bring an umbrella or hat or something. The tables should have optional umbrellas imo.
A good thing was the boxes did have a lot of protein so you so do get full, even when you share the boxes !
One thing to note: if you are afraid of bees or bugs, donât go. The bees are all over the flowers. When the music stops you hear really loud buzzing. But donât HURT THE BEES! They are already basically endangered. Just help them if they fall and sit next to them peacefully and donât bother them. Donât hurt or flick or swat them. They are keeping the flowers alive for you and they are making honey FOR YOU.
The area is very pretty and is perfect for photos and videos. Even the surrounding areas as long as you donât get the parking lot in your...
Read moreCame here for the lavender picnic at $125 per person. We were told that if the weather was bad on the day of the picnic they would reschedule us. On the day of the picnic the weather was fairly cloudy and it was raining a little.
Purple Hill Lavender emailed us an hour before saying that there was only a 40 percent chance of rain and that they were going to chance it. When we showed up for the picnic it was begining to rain more. They were lending umbrellas out to everyone and told us that they were moving all of our tables under trees instead of being in the lavender fields.
It rained on and off the entire time, with us sitting on pillows on the ground and holding our umbrellas over ourselves as well as our picnic table to keep our food dry. The charcuterie boxes were good and you get a drink as well but it was not worth the price tag. Purple Hill Lavender should have rescheduled everyone that evening. You are paying to sit in the lavender fields not under a tree by someone's house. We were a group of 7 and collectively paid almost almost $1000 for this "experience" of sitting in the rain. There was no offer of refund or reschedule.
The lavender fields are quite pretty and would make for great photo opportunities if it's not raining but you can just pay $15 to enter the farm and walk around. Skip the picnic it's a huge waste of money and despite what they say you will be forced to sit in the rain if they decide to go forward...
Read moreWe decided to go on a family outing to Creemore and heard about Lavender Farms from the locals while we were there. We were told there was a nice river/creek you could walk by while there as well. We were also told this by the woman working the front. We never saw one.
The Lavender farm part was very beautiful. Very nice to see that part and we loved that. The trail itself wasn't nice at all. It was after the farm part. It was mainly just weeds around a path that was mowed down for people to walk through. A tiny forest area as well. Nothing to see at all on the trail part and no creek/river either.
Also the cost to enter was 15.00 per person without tax. We were not told this when entering. We were told just 15.00. The woman at the front failed to mention it was per person and handed me the card tapper. So we assumed it was 15.00 for the whole car. I found out after looking at my bank statement the next day that I was charged 33.90. It's a good thing we didn't have more than 2 people in the car. It would have added up very quickly.
The staff was very friendly which was very nice. I just wish I knew it was 15.00 per person before entering.
Just to get to the gift shop you still have to pay the entrance fee.
Though the farm part was nice to see there is not much else to do or see beyond that. In my opinion, it was very expensive and definitely not worth that price per person. Save your money,...
