Absolutely stunning from the entrance of the parking lot to the main falls! Trail is mostly flat with little elevation gain at the end if you want to see the big falls from the top around the back, one bathroom, trail has evergreens and also a lot of roots and beautiful boulders throughout once you reach the beginning of York River and keep going towards the main fall. Please wear appropriate footwear and the place is dog friendly but not recommended for kids that need supervision due to the heights of some lookout points and the rapid current.

The waterfalls are not so high, I’d barely call it a waterfall. The walk in the woods was terrible due to the huge amount of mosquitos. We wore net jackets and still got stung. Upon returning to the car, we had to spend 5 minutes killing all the mosquitos that got into the car with us 🦟

Great location to relax on the falls. Check in with Pine Grove Campground for parking pass and inquire about the water levels. A good water stream is needed to be able to "slide" down the slanted rock portion. Great visit!

High falls is one of the best hikes I have done! It's not a very long venture bit it is beautiful. The first part of the trail is through a hallway of trees, before it opens up to walking along the river side.

I would highly recommend going during all seasons - the falls are super intense in the spring after the melt. Wear good shoes and be cautious if there is snow.

Summer is stunning as well! You can swim at the bottom of the falls if the waters not...

High falls is beautiful. The hike was enjoyable. My constructive criticism is the signage was terrible. We drove past the entrance to the trail head 3 times. Eventually we found it after getting directions from someone. The end of the trail wasn’t marked so we inadvertently went past it. We had great weather for the hike so it ended on...
