Wellington Brewery — Local services in Guelph

Beware if ordering beer online for delivery outside their local delivery zone. They use a 3rd party, ICS courier, and thus, any issues with the delivery are left up to you to sort out with the courier company. When I contacted the brewery regarding a delivery that I was having an issue with, they were apologetic but indicated that it was out of their hands as the package was with the courier and there was no way to cancel the order and have it returned to the brewery. In other words, I was at the mercy of the ICS courier system. Ultimately, the day after ICS indicated that they had tried to deliver the package (they hadn't), the beer was delivered...to a random address 30 minutes away even though the address on the ICS delivery notification showed my proper address. It gets better, the courier tracking indicated that I signed for it! Thank goodness for the very nice person who received my order and took the time to contact me.

Update, the brewery reached out again to apologize and cancel the delivery charge. They also mentioned that they have been back in touch with ICS to raise this...

I've always been a fan of Wellington beer, so l was stoked to finally visit the brewery. Cool store when you first walk in. I left with a nice glass and some beer and the merch is really cool along with the discs they sell for disc golf! We went for lunch so there weren't many food options other than snacks, so we got some Grilled Brie Cheese Sandwiches which were fine, I mean, Brie is always amazing, but it was just missing something whether it was honey and nuts, cranberry sauce, ketchup etc. The beer was great as expected. We all got flights and enjoyed all of our drinks. Favourites included the Crispy Forever,, S.P.A., and Helles Lager. Fair prices here and a nice atmosphere. Our server was soooo nice too, she heard that I was skeptical on trying the County Brown Ale so she so kindly brought me a little sample to try during our tasting! I'm not big on porters/ stouts and can be picky with dark brown ales, but I very much enjoyed this one, so thank you for the taster! Will be back in the summer...

I purchased some items online in order to enter a contest. After not being able to find where to enter the code to save $5 and enter in the draw I called the next morning. The first person I spoke with was not very helpful and seemed to not care too telling me I was too late to enter even when I placed the order. I asked to then cancel my order and they said fine and pretty much hung up. I hadn't provided any order info or name so I wasn't sure how the cancellation would work and how the person had handled the situation. I then called back for clarification and spoke to someone else. They were very apologetic, they helped me enter the draw, I replaced my order and they gave me the discount.

Although the first person I spoke with provided very poor customer service, the second person I dealt more than made up for it and turned a negative experience in to an extremely positive one. I'll now have to make my way out to see the brewery once things open up and I can wear my new merchandise when...
