My first time there although I've driven by dozens and dozens of times. My grandson was with me and we were warmly greeted. I was in search of butter tarts and I wasnt disappointed. They had 3 sorts of fresh home made tarts; plain (nothing plain about them), with raisins, and with pecans. The crust was just right; firm and flaky, not mushy or crumbly or pastey. The filling had just the right amount of sugar, not like some store bought ones that are over the top sweet and are not overly runny. They come 6 per package. I bought 1 of each. You can also buy them freshly frozen. Are they best I've ever had? Possibly. I also bought a fresh cherry pie. I was not disappointed. Here's a picture of each one of the butter tarts taken the day after.

Stopped by for some snacks on the way home and was pleasantly surprised! The produce looks fresh and so do the baked goods! The sausage rolls are very tasty, served warm for extra deliciousness. The person behind the counter was so polite and nice too. I ended up also buying some cheese curds, which I added to the poutine I ordered from the foodtruck outside - extra curdy poutine! Next time I'm coming up to the cottage, I intend to purchase some frozen things as treats! There's a lot tucked into that little shop, definitely worth a ten minute stop in your day!

Just like Grandma used to make! Well, perhaps even better, but don't tell your Grandma... Seriously though, the Argyle Farm Market offers some truly fantastic baked goods; the butter tarts are genius and the sour cream raspberry pie was a first for me and was delicious. I too appreciated their social distancing precautions, I will be back!

Stopped in at this cute little spot the other day, I’m a sucker for homemade or fresh baked as well as chip truck fries. I’m not sure if the food truck is associated, however, they were frozen over fried. Fries with lumpy gravy. I did not eat them. They were over priced for size and quality. I was excited for the baked good I bought in the store to take home. And then we ate them, family of 6 and we all had the same experience which I share below.

The farm market has a selection of frozen and fresh items available. And the smell of baked goods filled the air. Yummy.

I bought Sausage rolls Mac and cheese Quiche Apple fritters x3 (with no apple) 🧐 And cheese curds. Bill was $80. I am always happy to support local/small business’s

This is not a place I would return. They are extremely overpriced, (even with the increased cost of groceries). And the food is bland. The Mac and cheese was missing the cheese flavour was more like a cream sauce without spices. The sausage rolls were not really sausage but rather a paste and also without flavour. Quiche also bland. And the apple fritters although warm and smelt delicious, were without apple and very dry. I found one piece of apple that was a bit bigger that the size of a pea on one of them. Very disappointing for $4 a piece. (This too for me is over priced by a buck and a half) The best were the curds which kept the stars up otherwise. On the 1 star as I would not return as the price was high and the quantity and quality of the items did not match. The frozen items are over priced by...

Years ago we used to stop at the Argyle Farm Market to pick up butter tarts on our way to Fenelon Falls, but I haven't been to the Falls in a long time now. We were given some butter tarts and a chicken and a beef pie by some friends who had been there recently. One bite of a butter tart and I was in heaven. The crust was light and flaky and the filling was delicious and not too sweet. I'm the person who eats the pie filling and not the crust because usually it's like cardboard, but I devoured the whole thing and had my eye on the other one but hubby got to it before I could. He also ate the beef pie when I was out so I didn't get to try it. He said it was fabulous. I did get the chicken pie though and it was out of this world. Rich and creamy filling with real chunks of chicken and veggies that were still firm and not mushy and, again, the crust was light and flaky. We are now planning to stop by and pick up our own goodies from the Argyle Farm Market and I can hardly wait to have another butter...
