NOBODY sees my amazing 5 star reviews for yrs or cares! ): WHY! Makes reviewing not worth it. I am editing now as of July 30/25 and with a big suggestion please...(putting 3 stars to gain any sort of half decent response but BM is still 5 stars to me!) Have supported here since 2009! I moved to Kelowna in 2008.
WHY hire only super young gals only! ??? And one other guy who is also so super young! They are just interested in getting tips and my being around a ton and dining a ton, I know and see it. The "phony baloney Tony's" I just know!
There is yes a super fine line between just working for tips and being sour grapes as in the industry too long and I get it.
But these super tiny, super slim gals will not work out please know! (From a super viable and honest source!) Plus you keep hiring new staff yr after yr, why!
I must know please! (Please select someone who is on top of social media to simply just reply to reviews!)
Reviews below are from 2022 and before!
New review to add, still 5 stars of course! (Aug 21/22)...
Black Mountain is a tough course! Each time I play there it is quite the challenge to do well. But playing well there helps build me to be a better golfer when I have the time to do so! A better golfer for other courses not so tough like Kel. Springs, etc. I started out on fire today with a birdie on holes 1 and again on 9. That hole 8 is always a nemesis though and may never change as I feel I need to play driver off the tee to gain a par. Yup, took a penalty again and got a trip! But still, a 39 with a triple bogey was sure darn good and just wanted to share this fun day with everyone! I even played with a hurt heal and quite the sore stomach from a pulled muscle. Guess it caught up to me on the back but I still gave it all I got! The weather was PERFECT today! Sun blocked by clouds too so it maxed out up there at 31!
Today another great fun round at the Mountain of Black! (: (Sept 27/21) Food good too as usual but please please does it have to be just country music on only, always!...? PLEASE mix up the music to everyone's liking...smiles and "Smails". (Caddyshack reference).

Course was plush yesterday and in such fine shape. I try and play Blk Mtn about 6 to 8 times a year, each year, and always get the Players card. Have for 3 years straight now and which if you do not know is a very good deal. I also enjoy their season ending event and am signed up again for this end of Oct. A thank you for the above average to very good service each time and non snobby like many other courses I stopped going to. Thanks kindly and see you on the 28th! (: N.
June 2020...still a top 5 course in all of the Okanagan! Thank you for all of your greatness Blk Mtn! (Tower, Gallaghers, Blk Mtn, The Rise, Predator)...in no order! ...
Read moreNot a reflection of the course itself. Course is lovely with great variation in views and difficulty. I flew from Ontario to golf with friends for the weekend, and the starter allowed us to golf the day with 5 . First few holes were great. Upon teeing off at 5 a Marshal followed us for the remainder of the hole, plus another. We finally asked if everything was okay and he said we were 5 minutes behind. I Also noted we were not being loud or obnoxious to the Marshall and he agreed. For some reason we were being watched as a group of 5 even though the group in front was a group of 5 as well. We were told to keep pace and yet no one was behind us, or even waiting to tee off as we putted, or at any point for that matter.
At the turn we stopped for a bite at the window to eat, as was suggested by the starter, and to further support the club. Yet when we paused to take a bite we were yelled at to proceed with play. This, paired with the marshal on holes 5 and 6 ruined the experience. We started playing best ball to make up for the whole 5 minutes we were behind. God forbid we stopped to buy a drink from the cart girl on hole 5.
The remainder of the round felt rushed and unpleasant, apart from Michael, the marshal on the back 9 who said we were doing well for a group of 5. He met us at the end of the round and greeted us nicely as he had on hole 13.
Overall, the price was far too high for the experience, and the staff mostly ruined the round as they breathed down our necks. Nothing was stated that only hardcore golfers should play the course. It felt like only members should play this course, and that taking the time to learn it was not worth the staff’s time. Which is a shame, because it is a...
Read moreThe Black Mountain Golf Course is a fairly new and notable addition to the Kelowna golf scene, showcasing a wonderful design by Graham Cooke & Wayne Carleton. Weaving through a narrow valley, the course presents a thoughtful challenge for golfers of all skill levels.
The layout is defined by its strategic use of hazards. Water and a significant number of bunkers come into play on virtually every hole, demanding careful shot placement. While the fairways are generally generous, they are also well-bunkered, forcing players to think strategically off the tee. The greens are on the larger side with gentle undulations that add interest without being overly severe. The course offers a variety of tee boxes, including some elevated ones, to accommodate different playing abilities. Beyond the course itself, Black Mountain features a large, well-appointed clubhouse with a restaurant and patio that provides a fantastic view of the 18th hole. A fully stocked pro shop caters to all equipment needs. However, the practice facility is a significant drawback, consisting of only two small putting greens and basic warm-up nets, which is disappointing for a course of this calibre.
Based on our recent round, the course was in excellent condition. Our group, which included a mix of skill levels, found it to be an enjoyable and fair challenge, with everyone finishing their round without too much damage to their egos. The cost is comparable to other high-end courses in the area. While it may not offer an abundance of dramatic, picture-perfect vistas, it remains a thoroughly enjoyable place to play a round of golf. We would absolutely...
