I had my wedding at the Chateau this year. The venue as everyone can see is lovely! However, word of advice to all brides and grooms,if you select this venue make sure that you have someone there to keep count of the amount of wine bottles being opened. They will say that they'll only charge you for bottles opened, but in the end you'll pay for it all and they'll resell the bottles you already paid for. My guests weren't alcohol drinkers and bottles were being returned during dinner, but we still had to pay full amount and never got the unopened wine! Also, their changing room that they charge 250+tax for has a connecting door to where the wine is stored, as my bridesmaids and I are getting dressed a worker kept coming in to get wine bottles. Extremely uncomfortable and just ridiculous! Their soft drinks are considered open bar (350$) and you will be charged for diluted drinks that taste like nothing, although, on their menu it says 2,50 per can. Weddings are expensive and plenty of venues take advantage of such opportunities to over charge and not be honest about what they'll be offering. If it wasn't for the location and the traiteur(caterer) having great food, I would have given...
Read moreWe had our entire wedding (ceremony, cocktail, reception) on site at le Château Taillefer-Lafon (May 2015). It was gorgeous. Our original ceremony location was supposed to be on the lawn in front of the vineyards. Alas, a thunderstorm rolled in. Unlike any of the other locations we scouted, the Château had an excellent Plan B. The well-landscaped back patio has an awning that can be rolled out, and once set up with chairs and an aisle, it allowed the guests (and us) to stay comfortably dry while still outdoors. As a bonus, we still had the beautiful greenery of the vineyard as our backdrop.
For our sit-down dinner, the reception hall easily fit 9 round tables with nine seats each, and left space for a dance floor. And it was gorgeous! I wish I could post photos.
Another bonus is that we didn't have to worry about sharing the facilities with any other group. We had the whole property from 11am.
Overall, it was beautiful and the guests...
Read moreTwo of our friends had their wedding ceremony here yesterday, and it was our first visit. The Chateau itself was easy located right off the highway, and the entrance was clearly marked (during daytime hours) with ample parking. We were impressed with the grounds as the fall foliage was in full bloom, and the Chateau is immaculately maintained. The ceremony took place outdoors facing the vineyards and the reception was held inside. It was very cool to be the only group there, meaning we think that there's one ceremony/group per day only, not multiple events happening at once. The staff was fantastic and very attentive to our needs throughout the whole night. The washrooms were clean, the food was delicious (catered) and the entire night went without a glitch! Based on our experience as guests, we'd recommend this place...
