My disability involves the need to access washrooms while in public. I was told there was no washroom but there is a gas station down the road. I called the FMart manager to double check immediately, and he confirmed they have one but don’t have to let customers use it. “If four or five people want to use it, an employee has to go watch them so no we don’t have one”… My tears are so hot right now! I work for the people who are making sure your businesses and homes don’t flood and I have been denied the washroom at EVERY PLACE IVE ASKED: campgrounds, convienence stores, HomeHardware, this fresh mart, Foodland… I thought there were laws against this? I go here often but don't live in Cape Breton. Number one thing people talk about is the owner doesn't pay staff decently. So staff turnover seems high in a town with extremly limited job availability.Odd, because when you charge $6/7 for a bell pepper you should be able to show staff some appreciation.
They also have seasonal hours, so don't expect to be able to go here knowing the hours as Google maps doesn't always show that it changed.
