After years of driving past this place, I finally explored what Angus Glen Community Centre actually offers, and honestly, the all-in-one concept still works brilliantly in 2025. WHAT WORKS: Everything under one roof: pools, two ice rinks, a two-story library, senior programs, and more. Perfect for families who don't want to drive across town between activities. The library's study rooms are genuinely peaceful, and the programming variety (from preschool to seniors) is impressive at reasonable prices. THE REALITY: Yes, it shows its age compared to newer facilities like Aaniin or Cornell. Staff service is hit-or-miss depending on who's working. Transit access is surprisingly good (YRT 25, 18 and TTC 68), but weekend parking may be competitive. THE FRUSTRATING PART: No coffee shop or proper food options inside. Just vending machines and a hidden basic coffee machine. You'll need to drive to Tim Hortons or Starbucks a block away, which is inconvenient when you're there for hours waiting for kids' programs or doing remote work. WHO IT'S FOR: Families with multi-activity schedules, empty nesters (55+ club is well-organized), students needing study space, people with remote work, and anyone valuing functionality over aesthetics. Would I return? Absolutely. The practical functionality wins despite the dated look and missing café. 📖 Read my detailed breakdown on my blog Jen's One Fine Day that will be covering everything from transit options to specific programs, plus my suggestion for how an automated coffee station could transform this place. When I come here, I just take a moment, sit on one of the benches and watch all the rich people and their kids. Mommy sits on the side, while nanny goes "climb higher Xiaoma!". The child does eventually make the climb and I realize this is the cycle of life: these kids got it good. Money makes more money, which makes even more money. Xiaoma eventually will grow up to be "Dai Ma" and will own a giant Cannibis franchise. But for now...Xiaoma just finished playing, nanny packs up his Segway Ninebot e-scooter back into the G-wagon and they all drive off towards the sunset.

2022 March 4.5★ As a public community centre operated by the city of Markham, what's not to like? You have programs offered which are reasonably priced and conveniently located across the city. This facility offers a skating arena, pool, gymnasium, library and meeting rooms or spaces available to rent. Within the larger complex, you'll find a tennis centre outside in a separate building. There's also a park with a basketball court and a large soccer field. Plenty to do upon registration. Lots of parking. Multiple entrances. Public bus loop stops in front.

As a resident of Markham, I have had the pleasure of visiting various community centres in the area. However, Angus Glen Community Centre has consistently exceeded my expectations, earning its place as my go-to destination for recreational activities and social engagement.

The Angus Glen Community Centre is a modern, spacious, and well-maintained facility that caters to a diverse range of interests and age groups. Whether you are a fitness enthusiast, a parent looking for children's programs, or someone seeking social interaction, this community centre has something for everyone.

The fitness facilities at Angus Glen are truly impressive. The gym is well-equipped with state-of-the-art machines, free weights, and functional training areas that cater to all fitness levels. The variety of fitness classes offered is equally impressive, ranging from high-intensity workouts to more relaxing options such as yoga and Pilates. The instructors are professional, knowledgeable, and passionate about helping members achieve their fitness goals.

One of the standout features of Angus Glen Community Centre is the aquatic centre. With a large lap pool, leisure pool, and splash pad for children, there is no shortage of aquatic fun for the whole family. The swimming lessons and aquafit classes offered cater to all ages and skill levels, fostering an inclusive and supportive environment.

Aside from fitness and recreation, Angus Glen Community Centre provides an array of community programs and services. The centre hosts various events, workshops, and classes designed to bring people together and strengthen the community bond. From art classes to seniors' programs, there are countless opportunities to learn, socialize, and have fun.

The staff at Angus Glen Community Centre deserve special mention for their dedication to making this centre a welcoming and enjoyable environment. They are friendly, helpful, and consistently go above and beyond to ensure every visitor has a positive experience.

In conclusion, the Angus Glen Community Centre is a gem within the Markham community. It offers an incredible variety of activities and programs for all ages and interests, supported by exceptional staff and a well-maintained facility. I highly recommend Angus Glen Community Centre to anyone seeking a vibrant and engaging space for fitness, recreation, and community...

Well I have used the majority of their facilities and overall they are great. The building itself is relatively new and the staff and volunteers are nice. When we break down this review we see the pool, the library, the ice rink, the basketball court, and the provided camps. The pool: clean the lifeguards are very experienced and know how to deal with most situations. The library has a nice facility, it is usually quite. if they would buy more books then it would make the place that much better. I can't really say anything about the rink except for the fact that they maintain it well. Also there were free 1 hour skates not sure if they still do it. Most of my experience with the rink was with my hockey teams, we won majority of games here. the basketball court is nice, I really like the glass walls, it's innovative and modern. they keep it much cleaner than many other basketball courts, although I have not used them much personally I still feel comfortable using this facility. And the camp volunteers are nice. The whole community centre looks nice and so this ends this way too...
