Edit: My last review of this venue was during the pandemic and the fairgrounds experience was understandably worse.

I came back for Easter fun fest 2024 hoping that with all the social distancing restrictions lifted that the event would be immeasurably better. Suffice to say, it didn't quite live up to expectations given the price of admission. It was $30 for a child, $15 for an adult and then you had to pay another $10 for parking on the grounds.

The event itself is centered around a few flat rides, barns filled with different bounce structures and a spattering of midway games. The Easter specific activities included a barn with an egg hunt, some Easter bunnies in costume walking around, some Easter decorated photo ops, variety show with dancing and magic and egg decorating for kids.

Flat rides - not enough for the population of people at the event. Lineups would go all the way around the ride and cause extreme congestion in the thoroughfare.

Bounce structures - lots of these available, so the queues are manageable. Some are a lot more fun than others though.

Midway games - puts the mid in midway and definitely overpriced.

Easter egg hunt - fun enough for little kids. They did a decent job keeping eggs replenished and one of the few activities that wasn't trying to milk an extra fee out of you.

Stage performances - this was fun, but there again wasn't enough room for the crowd. Magician was very entertaining and humorous.

Egg decorating - $2 per egg, but they supplied some nice paint markers to use.

Everything considered, kind of a disappointment. Really hoping that this isn't just the new price of kids events now, especially since we really felt the lack of effort this time around.

Do you love queuing up in lines ? Then this is the weekend event for you !

Decided to check out the Markham fair this year after a friend of a friend raved about it. Unfortunately found out upon getting there that it was a totally different setup this year because of covid. The entire event was one long slow moving line with the occasional point of interest intermittently scattered throughout.

Would consider coming back in another year where they have a more conventional...

To the staff that worked Saturday October 1st, 2022. THANK YOU. Whenever I go somewhere with my client who has special needs I always try to be as prepared as possible. I call ahead, go early to avoid the crowds, and ensure everything is ready so we can have the best time. The staff today were so lovely and accommodating. I needed a wheelchair and had come to the wrong entrance, they were kind enough to go all the way to the other end to get one for us. On the rides, my client takes longer to get on and off due to his mobility issues, the staff were so kind and patient, didn’t rush us or roll there eyes, and actually lent a hand when they saw me struggling a bit. As we left I didn’t realize that I could have brought the wheelchair to the parking lot and so my client sat down on the floor Near the entrance. The staff actually were kind enough to sit with him and keep him company while I brought my car to the entrance site. Thank you to all the amazing individuals for your support today. Your kindness, understanding, and compassion makes all the difference. We had an absolutely wonderful time and will be sure to come back next year.

Thanks...

The Markham Fair was excellent as always! However, the admission fee jacked up to $25.00 was far too steep this year!!! One of the most expensive fairs! There was no paper coupon online this year, that was always available prior. The tiny discount that was offered, was too far in advance, and gobbled up by hidden service fees. Defeated the whole purpose. So, being forced to pay the full $25.00 was not very desirable! Leaving the fairgrounds through only one exit and not being able to turn left onto Elgin Mills was very inconvenient. No where to turn around. Having to watch poor Mama Pigs in the farrowing crates with their piglets was inhumane and unnecessary!! Lots of farms don't use these! Compared to other fairs, the Markham Fair had lots of variety. Superdogs is always excellent! Not as many vendors as previous years due to Covid. Would like to see hot apple cider, the Pita food vendor and jam preserves vendor return next year. Was hoping to see Faircrow this year, but must have missed him. Otherwise, a lot of hard work went...

Tom’s Warehouse Shoe Sale event — Large space. You will have to go through the boxes to look at each style of shoes. The warehouse is split into two large sections men (where cash registers are and the sunglasses booth) and women (plus kids section). Each side is then subdivided into sizes. Wait until the last day of the event. They offer a better deal. The selections for shoes are the same whether you go at the start of the sale or at the end. The sunglasses selection might be limited if you decide to shop last day though. Wish I knew sooner so I could have gotten more shoes for the amount I spent. Just a friendly tip: make sure you get charged correctly. The female employees I dealt with all seemed to think the high-cut shoes for men were considered boots and wanted me to pay the higher amount. I had to ask them to speak to their male employees as the shoes I was buying were actually considered lace-ups. It’s a $10 difference in price. The male employees all confirmed that they were not considered men’s boots.

Waste of time and money. The fairgrounds themselves are mediocre. 25.00 a child conflicts with the fairgrounds website where it states todlers are free. Arrive and 2-8 pays 25.00. I guess 9 year olds and teens are now adults because tbey get charge the 9 years to adult 8 dollar charge. Ther is nothing really for adults e CVS ept to watch the kids . Ladies and germafoids sorry but there are no flusing bathrooms here , hope the hole on the ground suffices for your sanitary needs. So if tou havrnt left to go to kidapolpusa nonsense at the awful Markham fairgrounds don't bother stay at home . Livestock stables closed . Horse show no horses there. Just a bunch of dirty bouncy castles and rides that would bore a 1 year old. The safety volunteers for the rides and bouncy castles are as young as your todlers and spend more time on their phones than paying attention.
