We've been going there for the last 5 yrs. I understand the price increase each year, but what I don't appreciate is the quality of the farm is decreasing dramatically. A few years ago, the pumpkin patch is full of beautiful pumpkins on the vine and nice gourds as well. And then there were no gourds, well I guess the owner dont want people to put them in their wheelbarrows.( The PYO pumpkins are charged by the wheelbarrow) Then last year, most of the pumpkins are off the vine, but we still managed to find some nice ones. But this year, it's just beyond unbelievable! The feild is just empty with a few rotten pumpkins thrown on it. You can't find any nice pumpkins on the vine, all the pumpkins are either half green, or rotten from the top. And the pumpkin patch is full of half rotten pumpkins and seeds. Some of them even start to smell and have flies flying over them. The whole point of going to a pumpkin patch and PYO pumpkins is so the kids can have a fun experience, what fun is to pick up rotten previously picked pumpkins off the ground. The owner picked all the nice pumpkins for individual sales. If we want to buy picked pumpkins we wouldn't drive half an hour from Aurora to go for pumpkin picking. If you are going to charge people to go into the pumpkin patch and charge more for the PYO pumpkins, then at least save some nice ones for PYO. So not worth the experience, let alone money wise. We will not be going back. Hate to see my sons be disappointed by the pumpkin patch again. P.s if you want a refund after walk in the pumpkin patch and realize there's no pumpkins to pick, they DONT do refund on the spot. You have to email the owner to discuss the details. Like, really?!!
Edit after owners reply: I appreciate the owner Jay's honest and sincere reply. I did my fair share of reviews on Google, the good reviews always gets a thank you. However the bad ones, I either get an automatic reply, or a very passive aggressive comment. But Jay took the time and clarified the misunderstanding, and took ownership of their staffs mistake. I respect that. I changed my review from 1 star to 4 stars, as I do respect owners like Jay and we did enjoy our time at ressors farm for the past few years. I kindly decline the owner Jay's offer on the refund and free pie, as we did end up filling out wheelbarrow with pumpkins, and my kids did enjoy the corn maze. So I guess depends on the weather next year, if the farm has a good harvest of pumpkins, we might be giving ressors farm...
Read moreWas here yesterday, the staff, a senior employee, was extremely rude to my children who wandered into a corn maze that was being constructed. There was no signs stating you werent allowed, no ropes to stop ANYONE from entering, and was directly behind the cart you buy corn. Honest mistake by 2 adventurous kids, they asked me and as I saw nothing saying you couldn't they entered I gave them permission. The young employee I encountered first was polite and patient while I tried to call my kids out. I entered the corn and walked in about 2 feet and my kids popped out another open, and I hear an old blonde, or white haired lady, asking my kids how they got in and that they aren't allowed. This happened In front of the younger employee that knew it was a mistake and that I waslooking for them. I came out and this same lady starts asking me the same questions, how did you get in there. I said we walked though the open spots and walked in she gestured with her finger that we need to leave. You could tell that the employee was afraid to speak up and say I spoke to them already the dad is getting his kids. I see this alot at seasonal businesses. And was Overly offended that this grandmother aged lady treated not me woth disrespect but my 2 young children and clearly her employees too, with such disrespectful authority. We will not be returning based on this encounter and would recommend if.you have children that you want to take to a farmers market or your child works for this farm to strongly reconsider and head 3 minutes either way up the road to the next farm, who I'm sure would love your business and treat you and your family with respect. If you're an employee here and feel discriminated against or intimidated in any way, I would suggest calling the human right bureau and seeking assistance . Whether you're a permanent...
Read moreToday I experienced something quite upsetting, devastating to say the least. While out for the first time at the farm market with my two children; I, we got denied entry. Now that's not the upsetting part, what really took me by surprise was as we walked to the entrance a lady had just gained entrance ahead of us. So I asked the two gentlemen at front if we'd be able to enter as well seeing as how the lady had just entered. One said sure while the other Said "sorry the last time for entry is at 5pm" it was 5:20pm and the lady had just entered. I said okay.... why did you let her through then. The young man who said sure just sat there in silence as his body language showed he was okay with letting my children and I through. The other man on the other hand said "oh they had already purchased admission and just got forgot something in their car" unbeknownst to him I had seen when this lady parked and exited her vehicle because my car was parked right beside her. Also there was no way admission could "already be purchased" as Friday is a drop in day and no reservation/ prepayment is made or needed. I wondered why he'd fabricate such a story. Why he didn't let my children and I through like he did the caucasian lady, then it dawned upon me... was it because I'm a person of color? To know this man picked and chose who he wanted to let in and who he didn't was very heart breaking especially experiencing that in front of my kids. Had he had not let in the lady 30 seconds prior to me I would not feel any was cause it is justified but to bare witness to what took place this evening is just gut wrenching. The farm looked lovely but I won't return with my children for a second time...
