This is one of our most favorite places to go during summer and fall. Great fishing place (large- and small-mouth bass, sunfish, catfish), no need to register to book a time slot. However one must display its Halton Conservation Membership Card (yearly pass) on the car's front window, to show that the payment was made. If you do not have the pass, there is a payment stand near the entrance. Our kids and us love watching big and small turtles in the lake there. One should be careful not to catch a turtle, while fishing, since there are lots of them there. We had caught once a turtle, and had to take out the little hook out of it and let it go back to the lake, thanks God it was all okay with the turtle. The trail is only 2 km long, but it is so scenic, so beautiful, there was even a movie in the making in this area this spring, and I understand why. great views and nature. There is a public washroom there, proves useful, when you are visiting for more than 2-3 hours there with kids. Picnic tables are available, great for mini family dinner. Have not been there for 2-3 weeks, and...

April 07, 2019: First hike here & paid parking fee. Icy, muddy, found a beautiful boardwalk and forest. Someone made a home out of a picnic table, using branches. It was neat and eerie at the same time.

September 17, 2023: Beautiful trail in September! So green! It rained lightly on me while hiking and I didn't mind. I'll be back!

July 30, 2024: Very buggy and the hike wasn't enjoyable, even with bug repellent! I think this is a good fall & winter hike only. I will keep notes for the best months to visit.

August 29, 2024: Got attacked buy skeeters in some areas of the trail. Finished the boardwalk loop though. I ran past the streams of still water where the mosquitoes hang out. Not enjoyable this time. It was cooler today but humidity does this. I think September and going forward will be the best times to hike this joint. The green forest is beautiful but wearing a tin bodysuit...

What a beautiful spot! We got there early morning when it was still cool and there was perhaps two other people besides us in the area.

There are a few paths that take you around the lake. A few of the paths were deeper in the woods and filled with mosquitoes but the trees were awesome to look at. As long as you kept moving, they seem to stay off of you.

There are a lot of varieties of birds here. We also saw a snake which was our first in a very long time!

There are about 6 picnic tables that are available to the public. There is also a washroom near which was somewhat surprisingly clean for a park facility.

The parking lot probably holds about 25-30 cars. We saw quite a few people taking their dogs for a walk here.

This location is part of the Halton Conservation Parks and as such will ask that you pay online...

Great little park, not busy at all. Walk around the loop takes about 40 minutes. It was very buggy this August morning, very glad we had bug spray! Lots of people fishing in the pond. We walked around the side and sat at a picnic table under a willow tree which was lovely. There is a bathroom at the park but it's kind of hidden! When you're looking at the pond from the boardwalk turn right, go around the pond and it's up a little bit on the right. Price was kind of high for what it is, but that's okay to support the conservation authority.
