One of the worst experiences we've ever had. The day started with the staff being late to arrive. We stood out in the freezing cold while members of the team were over a half hour late. No apologies or offer to extend our time. Upon arriving we were rushed to our treatments, without having time to change or get our robes. The first treatment my facialist left 1/4 of the way through and only came back with 10 minutes left of the supposed hour long treatment to take off the lotion she had put on. No decolletage massage, no 5 mask, and moisturizer - nothing. During the time when the lotion was "settling in" I could hear her outside the door with her boyfriend arguing about something or rather. Next therapy was a body scrub, which took her 10 minutes to find the materials she needed in the room (obviously new and untrained). To add insult to a wholly disorganized start to the day, the towels she ended up using were RAGS, dirty, filthy, ripped up RAGS. It was DISGUSTING! Upon bringing this to her attention, she informed me these were the clothes provided and to stop now would mean I would be forgoing the treatment. Upon heading back up to the main lobby we saw a line up of people complaining about one thing or other. Apparently they were short staff since employees just decided not to show up. Wanting to get out to the bathes we made our way to the cafe and waited TWO AND A HALF HOURS for a sandwich and a bowl of soup. The child working at the cafe had his first day and again didn't know where anything was. And if that wasn't enough food was cold when we got it. We missed our opportunity to use the bathes, had a terrible massage and if the deplorable service wasn't enough, my sandals were stollen as I was showering to get ready to leave. We were told that they would be in touch to compensate us for such an experience, but a year later we've heard nothing. One star is too many. We've been to a few spa's in the area (Bagni Spa being the best thus far) and were floored by the utter and complete lack of care and service. Train your damn staff and learn the meaning of service if you want to stay...
Read moreDrove in this morning from Ontario with my wife. We both had treatments all day, massage, facial, scrub etc. It was a bit difficult booking our package that we bought at Xmas. When we arrived we headed to the pools. We noticed the property needed a little maintenance, the lower hot pool none of the jets worked anymore, moved to the upper one which was missing half the jets, but they worked. We both noticed how run down the place has been. Dirty chairs, painting needed, weeds all around, sidewalks not swept, patio not cleaned and pools not prepared in the mornings, cracked pool walls etc.We agreed as a courtesy we would email some suggestion of what we saw. This all changed when both our massage were to start at11. At 11 I was informed mine was stuck in traffic coming from half hr away, then an hour later still had not arrived and given the excuse that it was due to road work. Well we actually took that very road in the morning and there was none or any preparation for some. My next treatment was only later after noon, so I got dressed and told my spouse that I will be back to pick her up at the end of the day. To spend another 3.5 hrs in the property without treatments was not why I came since we have the amenities at home. We love spas, but would not recommend this one. We have 2 more day certificates and will not...
Read moreVery relaxed vintage wooden Laurenien chalet style spa complex featuring 4 large hot or cold pools, sauna, steam room and solariums, and several treatment rooms. Situated along a river in a valley near Morin Heights (Adjacent to St Sauveur) the spa is completely surrounded by pines brimming with wild birds & animals (saw baby deer just 3 meters away). A pathway leads to a secluded riverfront seating area. The spa is certainly under staffed, is in need of some renovation ( seems like it's been a while since many of the jets in the pools were working), Bistro menu is a bit too basic, locker rooms are beyond too cramped..... but this specific AmeriSpa in Morin Heights just has a real charm. Clients here are told to respect silence, which most seem to respect, although many folks still bring their cellphones, and the folks I met here range in age from late 20s to 60s for the most part, with many coming from as far as Montréal for a day here. Highly recommended, ask about promotions, I got a 10 entry pass for $500 plus tax, a great...
