We love taking the ferry over and spending the day exploring. We brought friends over this time with our dogs and it is now a new place for them to frequent. There is lots of parking close to where the ferry leaves.

We hiked along the trails which were well groomed and signed. There’s a couple of areas that are hard to locate such as the mine shaft etc. which could have better signage as you are going along.

Lots of great views, wildlife and sea life to enjoy!

Staff are all super friendly and there are lots of toilet facilities (outhouse) throughout the park. There is a small store/food area that sells shirts, ice cream etc.

The fairy runs quite often in the summer, every half hour and takes up to 40 passengers. Later at night and during the off-season they sometimes run the smaller boat with only takes approximately 12.

On low tide you can walk over to Protection Island and go for a bite to eat at...

We had a wonderful time visiting Saysutshun Island! The docks are spacious and can accommodate several boats, making it easy for boaters to stop in and explore.

This island is a fantastic destination for families—whether you're planning a day picnic or camping for several days. There are kayak and paddleboard rentals available, which make for a fun and active way to explore the water.

The information booth is packed with helpful details about the island and its history. Everyone we met was incredibly friendly and helpful, which made our experience even better.

There’s also a restaurant on-site offering delicious food options, including salmon burgers, fish and chips, and of course—ice cream!

With stunning views, beautiful hiking trails, and plenty of places to swim or relax by the water, Saysutshun Island is a must-visit. We’ll...

Place is amazing!!! a Nanaimo hidden gem didn't know this place existed coming out there, was suggested to me staying at the Vancouver island residences went and checked it out for a day hike learned there was camping and came back and stayed for 5 days, it was during the week and the island was pretty empty, was tranquil, there was deer everywhere and they were pretty fearless they'd walk right through the campsites (raccoons in daylight too!) walking through the forest you felt like an ant walking through the grass most of the trees are enormous , had the beach to myself, saw purple starfish, the staff were great, and the burgers from the concession were pretty good. Plan...
