When you hear the name Tea Farm you probably wonder what the heck is that? I highly recommend letting that curiosity be satisfied and stop by for a visit.
The location sits upon an old homestead and converted barn that now houses an amazing, relaxing, inviting and charming atmosphere. Sit by the warm fire on a cold damp winter day or sit outside alongside the open beauty of a meadow on the patio area.
The studio/cafe/Shop allows a nice place to sit in a serene place while enjoying the finest of teas while being educated on them. Browse the large selection of packaged teas to take with you or try something new. The Tea Farm is also the studio and gallery for the incredible works of co-owner Margit Nelleman. From the cups, saucers, plates and tea pots the cafe serves with to her famous tea light houses, vases and table lamps.
The true highlight of the Tea Farm is the wonderful staff and especially the co-owner Victor. Be dazzled by the educational experience of all the teas they serve and sell. Victor and his staff make you feel welcome and more like family over for tea and a snack rather than a customer.
I can’t recommend a visit...
Read moreI recently visited Westholme Tea Company and was struck by how beautiful the place was.
Nestled in the Cowichan Valley, Westholme Tea Company is idyllic. The small BC tea farm feels peaceful and far removed from the ordinary world. Yet, in reality, Westholme is a short, convenient trip for those based at Shawnigan Lake, Cobble Hill, or Victoria.
While I was at Westholme, I purchased their Royal Yunnan Gold and Keeman Superior. As a tea fan, I was keen to taste both black teas.
The dry tea leaves of the Royal Golden Yunnan had vibrant golden tea buds interspersed among the black tea leaves. When steeped, the drink had a creamy, gently sweet, round flavour with no bitterness. The Keeman Superior had malt and dried stone fruit on the nose, and toasty pine on the palate. Both teas were delicious.
I was also impressed with the range of tea and products Westholme Tea Company carried. The teaware, made by Margit, was beautiful and unique. My biggest regret was not purchasing one of her artisanal, hand made pieces of teaware.
I plan to go back to Westholme Tea Company and have already recommended it...
Read moreWhat a beautiful first experience I had today for my first visit to the Westholme Tea Company!! 10/5 stars would recommend!
Knowingly arriving about a half hour prior to their opening time, I had planned to do a little work in the car as their stop was on my way home from work. With 15 minutes still to go, and IN THE RAIN, the lovely Isabella came outside, all the way out to my car. She apologized for "disturbing me", and wanted to check to see if I'd like to come in 15 minutes early as they were ready for me! Wow!!!
Little did she know that this helped me immensely with the rest of my day which was shaping up to be very busy. Both Isabella and Shawna were extremely warm and friendly, and made the perfect recommendations for my husband's and my preferences.
Today's experience had already created a lifelong customer in me, but as a bonus - it turns out that the West Coast Breakfast tea is the best tea both my husband and I have ever had!!
What a gem this tea farm is - and right here in our beautiful country, on our...
