Very bad experience with my event. The ac was not working. All the vendors and guests complained at my event. There is a review that says that the ac was not working a week earlier as well. And then I heard from a friend that the ac was also not working a couple of weeks later, at one of their smaller halls in the venue as well. I had brought this concern forward, and the solution brought forward by the owner was a discount on a future event. I said that I do not think my relatives would think of coming to OL again. I asked for a compensation and he said we can look into it, I messaged and called several times, only to be ghosted. One can only be so nice and patient, it has been weeks and two months of back and forth. I wanted to give a benefit of doubt and wait for their reply, and settle with them privately, but still no reply. My event is remembered even now, as the one with no ac, people were sweating excessively, and most of the people left early, all the effort in planning this event went in vain. This is also a very serious health concern, for their ac to keep breaking. Its very upsetting when you work so hard only to have unimpressed guests. The owner did not even tell us about the ac not working. He said it was working and we got it fixed, but because of all the heat from the food and as many guests kept coming, it got warmer. I explained no, the ac was not working from the moment we entered the hall. Every single vendor complained about this, and even our cake vendor asked us to please speak to the owner to do something about the ac. It was nearly impossible to even dance in the heat, and water was not being filled at tables, Sprite ran out at the bar. We were promised 2 bars, and only provided one. We brought that concern at the event, nothing was done. The major con is the ac, and no solution offered to us. If we do another event at OL, and if we bring alot of guests, what if it stops working again? It was super stressful during the event, people were coming to me on stage and telling me about the ac, imagine how that feels. Everyone was taking their frustration out on my parents, to please speak to the owner to do something about the ac because it was unbearable. My friends were saying they heard so many of the guests complaining to themselves about the ac. Most people left early, had to stand in the parking lot to cool themselves, and left without eating desserts. It was really embarrassing. All of my friends and relatives said to ask them for compensation because they saw how excited I was and the effort and anticipation I put into this event. Why couldn't they offer portable acs or fans? Whats done is now done, it cannot change anything now, most of our guests left...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis is part II of my review related to post-event service, which is not good at all. We had an Audiovisual issue during our event and Vishi (the owner/manager) promised that he would reimburse us for that. But after months of delays and avoidance (not returning several messages or phone calls) finally when I was able to speak with him on the phone, he completely went back on his word and said he would not reimburse. The main issue is not a few hundred dollars in question. The main issue is how he dealt with it, absolutely not keeping his word, and prolonging the matter unnecessarily.
Part 1: We recently had two major functions (Mehndi & Walima) for my son's wedding at Oakville Legacy (Angelo's Hall) and really had a wonderful experience. We had around 300 guests at each event. There are a few things worth mentioning: The size and circular layout of the Angelo's Hall is very well-suited for large events. Even with more than 300 guests, you do not feel cramped for space. I believe the hall can accommodate a lot more without any difficulty. The recent renovations done at the hall make it look really nice - floor, ceiling, chandeliers everything is beautiful. And a good decorator can really make it look stunning. Almost every guest complimented on how nice the venue was. Working with Vishi (the owner and very hands-on general manager) was a real pleasure. Vishi seems to have infinite patience for client's questions. He always has a smile on his face. He tries his very best to accommodate all requests. Even when he can't, he has a very nice way of helping you understand, why he can't. Vishi's pleasant and positive attitude is well-reflected in his staff, Patrick, Ania, Nawa, are all amazing - very responsive and helpful. Food was by and large excellent. Vishi even put me in direct contact with the chef, Nadeem, who was also extremely helpful and understanding. He tweaked and adapted several dishes, like Chicken Charga (lahori style:), to add novelty to the menu. Of course, when you have a large gathering and fairly elaborate menu, not everything is going to suit everyone's taste perfectly. And that's why I said that food was by and large excellent. If anything, if I were to select the menu again, I would probably not pick goat korma. The cooking was still excellent, I think there is something about the goat meat which some people did not like. You could easily replace it with several other veal or chicken dishes. I think to summarize it all, if I had to repick a venue for my son's wedding, I would pick Oakville Legacy without...

We celebrated our wedding at Oakville Legacy Banquet Hall in February 2024. It was an incredible experience, largely due to Patrick Narvaez, who introduced himself as the owner. Patrick handled every detail and gave the impression that he was fully in charge. Over several on-site meetings, he was always present and helpful, making it seem like he genuinely cared about the success of our event. Naturally, when my cousin was planning an event, I recommended Oakville Legacy and Patrick based on my own positive experience.
My cousin contacted Patrick directly, confident that she was in good hands. He helped her with the booking process, and she paid a $2000 deposit. However, the deposit referenced another companyāsomething that went unnoticed due to her trust in my recommendation and in Patrickās past reliability. It was later brought to our attention that Patrick may be involved in a fraudulent scheme, and upon contacting Oakville Legacy, we were told they had severed ties with him back in July 2024. Apparently, they are now in a legal dispute with him, yet they never notified past clients like us who dealt with him under their establishment to be cautious or avoid further dealings with him.
To make matters worse, I discovered Patrick was never actually the owner. The true owner, Vishi, saw us at the hall several times during our wedding preparations but never introduced himself or clarified his role. Now, my cousin is $2000 out of pocket, and Oakville Legacy has offered no assistance or accountability in recovering the funds. Despite knowing about Patrickās fraudulent practices, they failed to proactively reach out to clients like us to warn us. Their lack of transparency and communication in distancing themselves from someone they knew to be problematic is extremely disappointing.
Oakville Legacy Banquet Hall and its management have shown a severe lack of responsibility and professionalism in protecting their clients from these issues. I caution anyone considering this venue to be extremely careful in dealing with both the hall and any individuals claiming association with it. This experience has turned a once-positive impression into a regretful and...
