September 22, 2024 edit: Changing my 5 star review to 4 stars. I feel like something has changed at CBC over the past few months. There seems to be a whole new crew of women working the tap room. The new crew is nowhere near as friendly and welcoming as the old crew. They almost seem inconvenienced by my presence and annoyed that they have to serve me. All the workers seem stressed out and I've witnessed spats between them. The quality of the food has gone down a bit. There used to be more beers on tap. Maybe they're just between brews idk. The vibe just doesn't feel the same anymore. The beer is still great and the brewery is beautiful. Things just feel different. Idk if I'll go as frequently as I used to.

Charlotteville Brewing Co. is my favourite brewery. The beer is outstanding. Holly is a talented Brewster. I have tried about 10 of their beers, and they are all delicious and unique. My favourites are the Mango Ginger Milksake IPA, Pina Colada Sour, Chocolate Milk Stout, Coffee Stout, Dark Chocolate Chili Pepper Stout, En Garde, and Wet 'n Wild. You really can't go wrong with any of their beers.
The food is amazing. A lot of the food is grown on their organic farm. They pickle, ferment, smoke, bake everything themselves. The quality and quantity of food makes it reasonably priced.
The staff at CBC are really what keeps me coming back. They are all so friendly and provide fantastic service. The women that run that place rock! They really make you feel welcome and always go above and beyond.
The barns and property are so charming. The barns have a cozy rustic feel filled with vintage furniture and decor, which I believe is all for sale. So much thought and detail went into making CBC feel so inviting. The outdoor area is large and tucked up against a Carolinian forest. There are tables lot of places to sit and a few fire pits. The patio is dog friendly. The area is so peaceful and great for wildlife viewing with lots of birds flying about. There is a native plant garden and bee hives on the property.
CBC seems like a great company, and I resoate with their values. I am excited to keep coming back. I recommend CBC to everyone. If I could rate this place 6...
Read moreWe moved to the area in 2023 just around the corner from Charlotteville brewing Company... we drive by this place just about everyday sometimes as much as 4-8 times a day.
The wife and I had a weekend away from the kids first time in almost 4 years and decided to stop in here on a saturday it was really quiet but we showed up an hour before closing. Usually when we drive by the patio area are parking lot is pretty full.
We had a couple drinks, we were offered samples before ordering so we would knew what we were getting which was great.
Very welcoming staff always there to help.
Super clean establishment cleaner than most places I've stepped foot in.
Some interesting old farm equipment outside in the patio area to look at. Corn hole games outside, also looks like there is a outdoor grilling area I'm assuming its for events. Noticed some board games inside never asked about it but probably available to anyone that ask...
They are open during winter aswell
I was told they have live bands sometimes. Also on the website shows you can sign up for painting of some sort, they have merchandise you can on the website aswell and sell canned beer for on the go.
Indoor seating at the bar, couple tables on the ground floor, more seating upstairs.. a lot of seating outside. Plenty of free parking. They do serve food but I think its only at certain times
The owner was extremely nice and told us the history of the brewery and how the barn was dismantled, moved and rebuilt to where it is now with her family if I recall correctly.
Lots of interesting history on the walls, photos, etc. Alot of passion has gone into Charlotteville Brewing Company from what we've gathered. You can tell the owner cares about the brewery and takes pride in it.
If your looking for a local, friendly and rustic atmosphere this is it.
We'll be going back every chance we get to be kid free...
Read moreMy wife and I along with our two young children (aged 5 & 2) were staying about 30 mins away at a cottage. Being craft beer enthusiasts and this being the nearest brewery we decided to make the drive for dinner, especially since they had a kids menu. When we arrived we were told they had no kids food items left as well as 90% of their menu was unavailable. This struck us as odd as they only open for the week on Thursday at 4pm and we arrived at 4:30 so we were confused how they ran out of so much food 30 mins into their work week. Turns out they had a private event in the barn next door and all of their resources were focused on that for the evening. As such we had only one option to pick for dinner and a couple options of starters only. My kids had to share a charcuterie board which was not a hit as it had olives, spicy meats and other things not normally enjoyed by children under 5. The food was good but this put a major damper on our experience. The beer was okay but nothing special. The space itself is very nice and the staff were nice so that helped add a star to this review. I can understand as a business that you can host private events but it shouldn’t come at the expense of your regular patrons. A couple people walked out when they heard the food situation. Such a shame as I had such high hopes for this place based on the other reviews. I won’t be back...
