I really do not understand how this place has a high rating. May be their trails are good. That's about it. My friend and I were at hardwood ski resort on Dec 27, 2018. We wanted to use a Travelzoo discount for our ski trip. We came around 3 pm and were discouraged from using this discount (30$) as it was indicated that it would be time consuming (yes the person at the counter thought it's convenient for us to pay the full price), so we were told to pay the regular price...(about 60$).Please note this: there were 2 people ahead of us who had booked from Travelzoo an hour back and were allowed to use the discount. The front desk person mentioned that they need a minimum of 48 hours notice to see the names in the system if booking using Travelzoo. That did not seem to apply to the two who were in front of us. I do not understand why this discrimination (may be if we were from Barrie, they might have treated us better?). We spoke about this incident to Bob later, and we were assured that he was going to do something for us. We went to Barrie, the next day, and thought we could use this discount and reached out to Bob, and as you would expect, no answers. Empty promises and terrible experience is all you would get from the staff here. They should learn about customer service from Horseshoe resort nearby. Will spread the word in social media so people atleast read about...

There is a simple pleasure to riding a bicycle in the forest. Add in marked trail system with different levels of difficulty that is designed to take advantage of all contours of the land and you have an excellent in place to mountain bicycle. I have no issues with paying a fair price for trail pass to a park that has all riders going the same direction on the trail where you will not have to deal with dogs or walkers that block the trail or yell at you because your choice of enjoyment scares them.

The mostly rich dark soil provides great traction with just enough sand, roots and rocks to make the ride a blast.

Riding with a cell phone or gps with live map tracking device does help the group when your trying to make the most of the time or energy or simply had a mechanical and need to cut the route short.

If i had one suggestion to the park. Add on trail posted map boards with you are here markers. Yes they have them with winter season trails and names but no summer versions.

This is a family friendly destination with dry and shelter/shaded places for the none riders to just enjoy themselves. If your little trail monster is off the training wheels then they can ride a trail here. I saw so many young up and coming riders have a great time here.

One of my favourite places to...

Fantastic experience! Excellently maintained trails, beautifully rolling breathtaking trails and views. Some extremely challenging. Different trails for all types of riders including beginners and day renters. Always have a great workout not even knowing I'm getting a workout I'm having that much fun. Clearly marked trails with opt out "back to Chalet options". Fantastic friendly, experienced service in house from all the staff. Always there if you need them for advice, repairs or equipment. Yuri from the bike shop knows his stuff. Very friendly and experienced always there to help with a great sense of urgency if you need something looked at. Bob from sales shop always very helpful and experienced. Sets me up with whatever I need. Price is very competitive as well. Angela and all the counter staff extremely friendly, always welcomes you with a smile. Everyone here is happy and make you feel welcomed. Thanks! Love this place! You need to experience this. Unparalleled experience that will...

What an awesome evening & a talented star! Arienne Strong has been with Hardwood for many years and was a dancer for our Dancing with the Easter Seals Stars event this year, it was great to have her there and she knew how to put on a show. Arienne raised funds to help send Easter Seals kids to camp, and we are so thankful. Our summer camps are fully accessible for children with physical disabilities, where they experience freedoms and friendships like nowhere else! Arienne brought her family, friends & peers together for the kids, and we look forward to seeing them all again at future events. Thank you Arienne for being a part of our event, it means so much to the kids! Jennifer Raftis - Community Engagement & Event Coordinator with Easter Seals Ontario

So sorry to hear that Hardwood Ski and Bike have taken the same stance as the down hill skiers took when snowboarding was introduced. This close minded approach to new forms of recreational activity is very unfortunate. As with snowboarding the older narrow minded people spread lies and rumors about our recreational activity (Electric Unicycle). As with snowboarding over time people will see the injustices the these people are inciting against us. Electric Unicycle are environmentally friendly, quiet and do not damage the trails any more than a regular bike. It is also quite hypocritical that e-bikes are allowed with their ability to damage the trails more than a bike.

The place is great!! Trails are meticulously labelled & very well maintained. The only thing to look out for is trails closures, which are not communicated or updated anywhere, which will mean you have to detour via another trail. I've only experienced that on GNARLY & had to detour via FUN (see photos). BEFORE RIDING: you'll get a sticker for your bike once you complete pandemic screening etc. AFTER RIDING: there are several bays to hang your bike (drivetrain or braking), pump & toolset area & one bay to wash it off. The onsite mechanic can help you out based on availability. There may be a small cost to that. Great experience.
