Sunday Oct 20 we had a wine tour with the company, and NEVER again! We were rushed out of every winery. We weren’t given anytime to shop and grab wine after each tasting. The driver was rude telling us hurry up or we will cut into our lunch. After the driver said that (which our guide at that winery heard), I had asked to sample a wine I was wanting to get and was told they didn’t want to open one so he just poured me something else. I have never gone to a winery and had them not let you sample one of their wines that they sell. We arrived 8mins late for our lunch break and the driver still cut off 20mins from our break. The last winery sent us out of the tasting room and the driver was already was telling us to get on the bus. We didn’t even get to look at the grounds at Reif winery. I always figure I will buy at least two bottles from every winery on a tour to support the wineries. I managed to get 1 bottle at only one of the wineries in the time the driver was giving us. If you needed more than 5 mins to look, you were out of luck. The driver was clearly rushing as we somehow arrived back to hotel a half hour earlier than expected. This tour was $170 and we had to drive out to wineries the next day to get wine for ourselves because we were that rushed. And clearly we didn’t need to be rushed as our tour ended and we were at our hotel 30 mins early.
After reading your response:
Oh dear I see that your response was quick and unfortunately not true. You did not EVER try to contact me about anything via phone or email. You DIDNOT contact all other members of the group as 4 out of the 11 people in the group were with me and had a similar experience. And yes we were dropped off at 3:30 instead of 4. You can “check the camera” at our hotel. Traffic was not excessive in the least that day. If it was we wouldn’t have gotten back early! And also I DIDNOT have an additional 3 tastings anywhere! Completely baffled and shocked by this one! I hope my review helps others when they are looking to come visit the area. I have been on many tours in Niagara and all of which were lovely, more cost wise and didn’t call their guests liars and make up stories to post online when they have a complaint. I highly recommend any...
Read moreThe tour was wonderful, from start to finish! We were driven around by Jeff, who picked us up at our hotel in Niagara Falls exactly on time. We were a small group - only 6 people, and that was perfect for us. In total, we visited 4 wineries and spent some time in Niagara-on-the-Lake. The four wineries were Queenston Miles, Konzelmann, Lakeview, and Pondview. We absolutely loved Queenston Mile (the atmosphere was intimate, the tasting happened outside on a beautiful day, and the wine was fantastic) and Konzelmann (beautiful location, very knowledgeable guide, and great wine). Pondview was very good too, with a nice selection, but busier and took longer for us to have our tasting. The young man that provided the tasting was very knowledgeable, even though it was his first day on the job. We didn't like Lakeview. This is a larger production, and you could tell. We were rushed through the tasting and the store was crammed with people. The young man giving us the tasting was not as knowledgeable. I would recommend that the Wine Guys scratch that winery from their list of places. Jeff, our driver, had lots of information on the history of the area and the various wineries. He took us to Niagara-on-the-Lake and suggested different restaurants, and was very helpful overall. He also added a stop at a local chocolate shop (BONUS!) at the end of our visit. This was a very memorable experience and I would recommend using the Wine Guys if ever you go on a wine tour in the...
Read moreMy husband and I took the wine and charcuterie tour with Winery Guys on our honeymoon in Niagara Falls this September. We had an amazing experience, and thoroughly enjoyed our tour. It was very convenient to get picked up for the tour straight from our hotel. Jeff, our tour guide/van driver was very friendly and informative during the drive. It was very interesting to hear some history of the region and how some of the wineries originated. The van is comfortable and spacious. We liked the fact that our tour group was not too large (we were a group of 5 couples), so we were able to enjoy our tour without feeling rushed or overwhelmed. We had a great time visiting Konzelmann, Reif, and Pillitteri wineries. Each winery provided a different tasting experience. The charcuterie at Konzelmann was a good portion for the two of us, and paired well with the wines we got to taste. We found a few wines that we enjoyed, and we were able to purchase a bottle from each winery to enjoy after we got home. We also enjoyed the tour of the facilities at Pillitteri and even had the opportunity to meet Mrs. Pillitteri herself at the end of our tour. Our tour included a lunch break in Niagara-on-the-Lake, which gave us an opportunity to see some of the town and enjoy a nice lunch before resuming the tour. I would highly recommend Winery Guys if you are looking to take a wine tour in Niagara...
