My husband and I just got married at Golden Eagle Golf Club on September 12, 2020. Due to COVID, we actually ended up cancelling our original ceremony/reception plans at a different venue and calling up GEGC in May to rebook just a ceremony. We chose this site because they had a large, covered outdoor space and a ceremony only option. The deck and tented area is perfect for physical distancing your guests and can be used rain or shine, so no need to come up with a weather plan 'B' for your special day. The ceremony package included white folding chairs, a speaker if you needed it, registry signing table with linen, easels for your signs, more tables with linens if you needed them (to put out favors, guestbook, etc.). Lorae was who we initially spoke to and met for the tour but Lamica was our actual Wedding Coordinator. She was awesome! I think I must have sent her over 20 emails between June and our wedding day with tons of questions. She answered them always within a day. She helped us arrange a champagne toast after our ceremony with our guests and even helped us arrange dinner for after our rehearsal with only a few days notice. We ate with our wedding party out on the ceremony deck, so everyone could space out and ordered food from the on site restaurant. It was all individually packaged and she even setup a few tables and chairs for us to use. Lamica setup all of our decor, favors, etc. on the day of the wedding and I could relax getting ready with my girls because I knew we were in good hands. Her communication was great and she is extremely organized. Everything went perfectly and If we had to complain about anything, it would be the poor Wi-Fi/cellular signal connection. With COVID, we were hoping to live stream our ceremony to guests that we couldn't have there in person and we couldn't do it. We recorded it then posted it afterward, which was still fine but a live stream would have been nice. All in all though, 5 star experience with the team at GEGC! :)

Playing every course in the lower mainland this year so made my first and last trip here on a Saturday afternoon. Spent the front nine playing behind a group of seven, with four carts hacking up the fairway in front of us. Cart path only of course. After we called the clubhouse on the 4th, a marshal eventually came (I think?) and split them up on the tenth. A few holes later yet were all back at it though. Nothing we could do and who could really blame the guys? They're out for a rip paying weekend rates right along with us. If the course has no control over their golfers, you've got to assume some will slam their beers from home and treat it like their personal toilet. There was a nice moment later on in the round where you had dueling carts spinning their wheels head on to your left, and two others trying to climb stairs to your right. Reminded me a lot of the vancouver riots. Does Aquilini own this too? A lot of similarities. Chaos and no order whatsoever. Bring a lunch and dinner because the food cart only comes by once a round. Maybe pack a two-by-four as well in case things are always this hairy. Oh yeah, how long does a round take? Well I started five hours ago and I'm still on the course.. writing this.

We are SO happy with our decision to host our ceremony and reception at this beautiful venue. Lamica the events manager was so professional and easy to work with. She was very quick to respond to our emails and was open to additional meetings we requested to go over the plan for the day. The views at the golf course are stunning and made the perfect backdrop for our ceremony. Additionally we could not pass up on the helicopter ride and upgraded to have both the photographer and videographer and we are thrilled with the content we have received thus far for sneak peaks. The guests have RAVED about the food and how quick the bar line moved. The staff was all super professional and made the day run extremely smooth. The late night snacks were also a huge hit!! We also were maxing out the reception space with 150 guests but the staff and my planner made it seamless with the removal of two tables and opening up the dance floor after dinner. The space for reception is already so beautiful so we really saved money on decorations as it did not need much. I recommend this venue 1000%!! Thank you Golden eagle staff and Lamica for making our wedding amazing!!!

My husband and I chose to have our wedding at Golden Eagle Golf Club in October 2018. The day we did a walk through of the venue with Lorae Brickwood (Events Manager) we knew instantly that we wanted to have our wedding there. We didn't even need a day to talk and think about it. We signed the contract right then and there. Not because the venue is absolutely gorgeous but because Lorae just gave us this sense of calm where we knew that our special day would be just that, special. And man, we were not wrong. She is 100% the person you want on your team for your wedding day. She is incredibly sweet, caring, organized and thorough. We could tell that not only was she good at her job, but that she absolutely loved her job. She thought of everything. She answered some of our questions before we even had a chance to ask it.

Our wedding could not have been more amazing. Everything went without a hitch! The morning of our wedding, I was calm and cool as a cucumber. No nerves, stress, concerns or worries. Mainly because I knew that I could count on Lorae to execute our wedding exactly how we (let's be real, I) envisioned. When I got to the venue, I was blown away because the room set up was EXACTLY how I pictured I wanted it in my head. Unfortunately but expected, it rained on our wedding and I had a long train on my dress. Without skipping a beat, Lorae knew exactly how to not get my train wet while walking to the ceremony and to let it down once I got there, all while still looking classy and put together. Lorae even offered to pick up our wedding cake/cupcakes for us at a bakery in a neighboring town. Lorae went above and beyond for us and we can not thank her enough

The rest of the team at Golden Eagle were also amazing. Not much to say about the food other than that it was wonderful. We had many compliments on it. The complimentary food tasting months prior to the wedding was a great added bonus. They were so open to accommodating our wants which was very much appreciated. Big shout out to Dylan who was not only kind and personable but attentive. He went out of his way to save my husband and I a plate of desserts because he noticed that we were so busy mingling with our guests that we would probably miss the dessert bar which we did! I came out and was so disappointed that there were no Macarons left. All of a sudden, I hear him behind me yelling "I SAVED YOU A PLATE!!" Amazing! We appreciated this so much.

Lorae also suggested DJ Stanley for all of our music needs. Not only was he priced great but he was fantastic!

All in all, it was an incredible day. So incredible, that I'm quite sad it's all over. Many of our guests said it was the best wedding that they've ever been to. I would love to do it all over again and change absolutely nothing. Thank you from the very core of our hearts Lorae and team. Hopefully we will see you all again...maybe for our 1 year...

Getting married at Golden Eagle Golf Club was above and beyond a dream come true! We first visited the tucked-away venue on a cloudy winter’s day in 2017, and despite that, we were so impressed by the scenic landscape (like out of a painting!), Lorae’s professionalism and expertise (instant trust!), and their unique partnership with the local helicopter company (mountain-top photoshoot!) that we booked them 18 months ahead of our wedding day.

Two Springs later, we returned for a complimentary Food & Wine Tasting of their Platinum menu and left yearning for our wedding to come sooner so that we could enjoy the food again! When we had our Rehearsal, Lorae led me and my groom, our wedding party and family members through it so smoothly and also let us use her office to store some decor items until our wedding that weekend.

When May 4th came around - we had the Best Day Ever!!! The sun came out as our ceremony began, and standing before our loved ones, we exchanged vows with the stunning Thompson Mountains and gorgeous greens behind us. After a round of group photos, Lorae guided us to a golf cart where she had prepared our boots, cape and lightsabers for our surprise helicopter take-off which none of our guests saw coming! While we were having the time of our lives with our photographer Stacie and pilot Alan on Widgeon Peak, our guests enjoyed appetizers, punch, and relaxed at the spacious outdoor patio and indoor restaurant area.

When we returned an hour later for our reception, we heard nothing but good things about the food and drink - especially the cocktails that Golden Eagle staff created just for us - the “Princess Leia” and “Blue Skywalker” to fit with our theme! The Platinum Buffet was delicious and we are still dreaming of the sablefish and wild mushroom ravioli!! Chef Danny was also able to fulfill our request to have cheesecake in our dessert spread and it flew off the tables. When my groom and I snuck out for sunset photos, I accidentally snapped the rose clean off his boutonniere, but Lorae magically fixed it!

Lorae is incredible - not just on the wedding day but throughout the entire planning journey. She was always enthusiastic, knowledgeable, responsive and accommodating about my every idea, question or request. Each Golden Eagle staff member we connected with before, during and after our wedding has been nothing but attentive, kind and professional. If we could do it over again, we would still choose to get married at Golden...
