Hewitts Farm Market & Bakery — Local services in Severn

As a long time Orillia resident I have visited Hewitt's many times, and it is honestly the highlight of my week. I'm always a fan of local farm foods, and this is no exception!

The place is always well cared for, a nice parking lot and a wonderfully clean place. The staff are always friendly and are nice to strike up a conversation. Not only that, it is always nice to see a staff mate cooking and baking through the window.

While I have never been to the fun farm side of things, the food is enough to make me come on back again and again. I like to do a test of basic foods to see the quality, Milk, Eggs, Bread, 2 frozen dinners, 1 snack, and in the case of Hewitt's a sandwich. Milk is always tasty though hubby and I need to remember to give it a good shake to mix the cream. However the creamy milk is always amazing from cooking like smoothies and mac and cheese! The bread is always almost like Milk bread, soft and easy to pull a part yet firm and holds it's shape well. The eggs are a nice golden yoke with a good hearty size. On top of that, they have a good firm shell, never seen a carton with broken eggs in them. But the two that make the biggest changes for me are their sandwiches and their frozen food!

Always a fan of their sandwiches, egg salad and pulled pork especially. Not sure what mayonnaise they use but I'd clear out the shelves for it. Not only that, the pulled pork was a wonderful blend of sweet and savory, with some nice crunch from lettuce and cheese to add a sharp kick.

As for their frozen foods, I have seemed to have better luck with their frozen meats then at least one or 2 of their frozen foods. Mostly in the Scalloped potatoes the last few times when i heated it from what was written on the box it was under cooked. My trick is usually to put it in for longer or turn up the temp a bit but to then watch it like a hawk. However this one thing does not take away from the wonderful food quality they produce as well as the friendly service and dedicated workers. From being willing to grab a bushel of apples, to helping give info about their products, to even being willing to take the extra step in recommending other businesses when they are out of something. It is rare to see this level of customer service and I hope they stick around for many years to come.

Hewitt's Fun Farm is such a great activity for children of many different ages. Not only is it entertaining but it is also educational. We purchased a Season Pass for this summer and it has been well worth the money. When you arrive to the fun farm you are greeted by friendly staff who make you feel welcome and are actively around throughout your visit. I can't say enough about the staff that run this business, they are friendly and helpful and will go out of the way to make sure you enjoy your visit.

If gives children of all ages the chance to explore different fun aspects of the farm - including a mini Hewitt's Stand where children can pick and sell their own produce! (how adorable is that!)

We personally enjoy seeing the farm animals - my son thinks Charlie the donkey is pretty funny.

It's affordable, and enjoyable by all and we enjoy that come fall they have a different look and activities to them!

We brought our Grade 8 class to Hewitt’s Fun Farm for a full day of fall fun, and it was absolutely fantastic! The students loved trying out the new trail puzzle challenges — they were creative, active, and perfect for promoting teamwork and cooperation.

The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, making sure everything ran smoothly. There were so many activities that kept us busy the entire day: we tackled the challenging corn maze, played mini golf, raced on the big wheel bikes, shot hoops, balanced on the slack lines, and met some super friendly farm animals. To top it all off, we treated ourselves to some delicious snacks from the farm market.
