We were halfway under the barriers getting on the bridge when the warning horn first sounded and the changed the lights to red. We still had plenty of time to finish clearing the bridge with the second warning horn sounding when we were a little over halfway across and the barriers coming down after us. There was a person watching the traffic on the bridge in a safety vest with a walkie talkie, presumably making sure everyone was clear before they raised it. We pulled into a little dirt parking area to the side to watch the bridge and the ship going under. It was perfectly timed to get everyone safely off the bridge before raising it and still have it fully raised before the ship reached it. After the ship passed they sounded the horn again and gave it a couple minutes before relowering the bridge. It's a got a pleasant personality for a bridge. Allanburg bridge has a very negative attitude compared to this bridge. We've had our moments and sometimes I feel like I'm held up, boating around with my emotions, but eventually the issue passes and we're on solid ground again.
