Aztec Electronics — Local services in St. John's

We brought our RCA TV down for a repair in May of 2024 and were told it would be a 2 week or so repair job but they would call back and confirm a timeline and cost. We have never gotten a call back from Aztec. We've called them off and on every few weeks since May (it's now October) and each call we have to remind the staff what TV it is, who we are, and what the issue is, and what the original discussion was for the work. The quote has changed several times across the calls, and at this point I'm not even sure if they still have the unit or if they have even opened it up for a look or ordered a single part. When we call we are told that either the right person isn't in, isn't available, or that we will get a call back from them the next day/week which never happens. If we DO get the right person (and are not asked to call back) we are told that the original suspected problem wasn't the right one so they need to get a different part or more time to do the repair. At this point I don't even know if I want the TV repaired. I'm frustrated writing this and would love to come back to this review in the future to update it to a 4 or 5 stars if Aztec does read this and gets in contact with us...

Absolutely horrible. The only information provided was from me calling (and then calling back), found out after a week that the issue was the main board it would be repaired in 5-10 days. I was travelling and when I called back 3 weeks later it still wasn’t repaired because they couldn’t find the part. Was told to call back in a few days while they kept looking. When I did I was told they me they found it and it would be repaired in another few days, then had him call me to say the part they got in didn’t work - the problem was the main board (which I knew because it’s the part he originally told me it needed), so they can’t fix it, and asked would I be picking up...

Main board was broken on LG 42 LED HD TV: It was close to work and he came and picked it up for no charge. He had a main board on site and it was fixed within a couple of days. TV still has good picture and sound, so it was worth it. This should significantly extend the life of the tv as well. Total cost was about $180 (parts and labour), which was reasonable considering the part was not that cheap and it took a few hours. He was great to deal with and provided tips on avoiding on maintaining the tv as well. I would definitely use this...
