I really don't see a point in this "mall" anymore. Security really seems to have a problem with anyone under the age of 50 shopping in there. I'm not even speaking about James. One lady security guard in particular seems to have been instructed to ask people to leave the second she sees they're done shopping in a store. I've seen her do it to others. But then it was done to me as well recently. Asked if I did anything wrong or if I'm being banned. I'm told no, but then gets told I can't loiter..... Apparently the 4 or 5 bags of stuff I bought from Dollarama isn't a good enough purchase to be allowed to be there
Place is a ghost town. Least you guys could do is leave the people who do shop there, alone. Not a word uttered to skeets who hang out in there all day. But will approach someone with multiple bags of purchases and ask them to stop loitering.
Really starting to believe the rumours that the security there are friends with the skeets who frequent there. Why else would they be allowed to hang out without a word said...but actual customers get asked to stop loitering?
In any case, a better Dollarama is up the street. Will go there from now on, as to not be disturbed by skeets and...
Read moreSo, this mall is pretty bad. It's mostly empty with little shop variety, and there's nothing in there I can't find elsewhere, so I never go in. It's a shame because the building itself is quite nice. Today, they hosted a local market that was excellent. I've never seen so many people in The Village before. I enjoyed it and hope they do it more often. However, I do have one gripe with it: at least one seller there was selling AI-generated art prints. It was really distasteful and honestly offensive to see someone given an opportunity to profit from AI art while surrounded by other people with handmade crafts. I love supporting local and I was really upset to see this. I would like if there was a stricter vetting process when accepting vendors to prevent this, which is something some of our other...
Read moreThe lonelier sibling of a more famous mall in the town, The Village Mall is great in the sense that it's quaint, quiet and cheap - a good recipe for an occasional visit to buy clothing and quick needs. Somehow the counterpart stores have more stocks here than in Avalon, but variety is limited, due to the presence of a small number of stores. The mall is well laid out to be a place of greater utility, and has a great food court space which could do with more outlets offering food. There's also a gym that stays open round the clock. It also continues to be a hub for buses and a common interchange place. Considering the crowd that brings in, the mall could've benefitted...
