This is real hiking! This trail will give you everything, waterfalls, creeks to cross, all types of trees and plants, through sunny fields, pine and cedar forests and along some cattail marshes, a few great lookouts well above the treetops. The trail is well marked but can be confusing at some points as the trail names do not match the main trail head signage. This hike is definitely intermediate to advanced if you plan to do the full loop. You must have good sturdy shoes for this one. It may be challenging to take a dog depending which part of the trail you are doing, and as there is a part with a ladder. Bring lots of water, a picnic lunch and plan this to be a day hike. The trail leads you up and down many steep hills and the ground varies from tree roots, loose rocks, slippery wet rocks and pine needle forest floor. Some areas would be very muddy if it rained recently. Near Metcalf rock you have the option to do a scramble into a cavern with an amazing view. Parking can be the challenge as the main parking lot is often full. But there are other trailhead options but watch for the no parking signs.

One of the best hikes in Ontario! You'll go out there expecting to follow one route then quickly get dragged into all these little features along the way like caves, valleys, cervices, cliffs all the views are stunning, trails are well maintained and if you're into rock climbing they have something for all levels from 5.6 to some hefty 5.12's. They also have a little area with rappel loops low to the ground so people can practice lead climbing without the risk of well you know falling to your death cause you forgot to do something.

Wonderful area to hike in all seasons. Nice little waterfalls to start stepping over moss covered rocks. The side trials to visit the crevices and caves are well worth it. Great picture opportunities all around.

While ascending the slope, there are ample areas to take a view down the crevices or out across the valley below. Options are available to take a short 2.5 km loop or extend it up to 9.5 km. Lots to see and explore. Well...
