A Truly Unforgettable Northern Experience at Arctic Lodges – Reindeer Lake, Saskatchewan From the moment we arrived at Arctic Lodges, nestled on the pristine shores of Reindeer Lake, it was clear we were in for a first-class wilderness experience. Accessible only by airplane via Arctic Lodges privately owned and operated (Hydiak) Malcolm Island Airport which consist of a single gravel/clay/sand runway. Arctic Lodges Staff maintain an impressively well-kept strip despite its isolation. The remoteness of the lodge adds to its unique charm and exclusivity—making it the perfect destination for anyone seeking adventure paired with comfort and hospitality. One of the most memorable aspects of our stay was the absolutely phenomenal food. The culinary team at Arctic Lodges goes above and beyond what you’d expect in such a remote location. Each meal was thoughtfully prepared, beautifully plated, and packed with flavor. Mornings started with warm pastries and hearty breakfasts—perfect fuel for a full day on the lake. Lunches, often taken as shore meals prepared fresh by our guide, featured freshly caught fish grilled over an open flame and paired with homemade sides. Dinners back at the lodge were nothing short of gourmet, featuring dishes like grilled elk, bison burgers, and decadent desserts that would rival any fine dining restaurant. The attention to detail, use of fresh ingredients, and hospitality from the kitchen and dining staff were consistently impressive. Our fishing experience was elevated thanks to our guide, who clearly loved his job and knew Reindeer Lake like the back of his hand. His enthusiasm was apparent—he was just as excited as we were each time a trophy northern pike or lake trout surfaced. His deep knowledge of the lake’s structure, seasonal fish movements, and weather patterns meant we were always in the right place at the right time. Beyond his technical skill, his personable nature and love for the sport made every outing a pleasure. Whether navigating hidden bays or pointing out wildlife along the shore, he brought incredible energy and professionalism to every moment on the water. It was obvious he took pride in delivering an exceptional experience. After long days fishing and exploring, returning to our cabin was a welcome luxury. The accommodations at Arctic Lodges strike a perfect balance between rustic charm and modern comfort. Our room was clean, cozy, and well-appointed, with comfortable beds, warm lighting, and a propane heater, although a wood stove would have been fine with me and my father. The lodge also provides thoughtful touches—daily housekeeping, a common area with Wi-Fi , a pool table, and a beautiful fireplace where guests can relax, and share stories. Arctic Lodges delivers on every level—from the stunning natural setting and expert guiding to the surprising culinary excellence and cozy accommodations. It’s more than just a fishing trip; it’s a complete northern escape, where every detail is handled with care and professionalism. Whether you’re an avid angler or a nature enthusiast looking to experience the wild beauty of Saskatchewan in comfort, Arctic Lodges is an experience you won’t forget. My father and I will definitely return next year.

Highly NOT recommended!!! The owners just want to take your money and leave they don’t care about keeping the clients happy especially the staff, the lodge it self is falling apart at an alarming rate! There is carpenters ants in the main trust of the lodges so it’s only a matter of time before it all collapses, the other note is the amount of mice running threw the lodges and kitchen, I know a 5 star restaurant shouldn’t have any mice in the kitchen or food area! Also all the staff and guest cabins are full of mice and even seen clients and staff get sick from living with the mice. I would never recommend working at this lodge due to the fact the owners (Andrea & Kelly) will hold you with a dangling carrot and promise ya the world but will never provide they have horrible skills in leadership, the staff food is a joke I was sick most of the summer due to the bad food they kept serving us but they rather do that then loose a dollar by throwing out bad food, if you weren’t in the lunch room in time the food was gone, nobody had respect for each other at the lodge, it sucks that they just want your money and want to get out, I watched guest complain all season and the owners just brush it off!!! On the other note there is a lot of illegal health a safety acts they try to just push off!! There was also a huge concern on the mount of parasites that was found in the fish but they said not to worry and just feed it to the clients they won’t know!! That’s bad business because the clients should always be right and number one!!! Not only that but in Saskatchewan it’s illegal to run and operate a boat while on a suspension for driving under the influence but that doesn’t apply to Arctic lodges they think they get a pass so all guest be careful! Make sure that your guide is in fact licensed to be operating that vessel! Make sure to watch all limits of fish a followed because poaching takes away from everyone! If I had one word of advice I would be hitting up one of the other lodges that aren’t so money hungry with a plus cost on everything, there is many on the lake that are way better then Arctic lodges I feel the owners are just trying to make a fast buck to get out before the whole lodge falls apart!!

Our trip to Arctic Lodges on Reindeer Lake was nothing short of spectacular! From the moment we arrived, the experience exceeded every expectation. Fishing: The guides were absolute pros—friendly, knowledgeable, and always putting us right on the fish. My arm barely got a break! Between the four of us, we landed multiple trophy pike, and every day felt like a new adventure. The shore lunch was a highlight, with fresh fish cooked right on the lake—simple, delicious, and part of the whole experience. Lodging & Amenities: For being completely off the grid, I was blown away by the comfort and setup of the lodge. They generate all their own power, and yet, we had hot water, full bathrooms, electricity, and even satellite communication with internet. It’s truly a wilderness escape without sacrificing comfort. Food: Absolutely five-star dining in the middle of the Canadian wilderness. Every meal was massive and felt like something out of a top-tier restaurant in NYC or LA. The quality, variety, and flavor were unbelievable—we were all beyond impressed. This trip was worth every penny for the unforgettable experience I got to share with my siblings and my dad. We didn’t hesitate to rebook for next spring, and I already can’t wait to be back. If you’re considering a fishing trip of a lifetime, Arctic Lodges is it. Highly, highly recommend!

Got the opportunity to repeat a trip with my dad to Arctic Lodges. We first visited in 2018 and decided that we had waited too long to go back and booked the trip again.||I often wonder if the second trip will be as good as the first trip since expectations are much higher the second time around. All I can say is that Kelly, Andrea and the staff along with the huge northern pike exceeded our expectations yet again.||The fishing was truly world class. Over 4 days, we landed 7 pike over 40 inches including 2 that went 45 inches. Probably lost just as many before we got to land them. The amount of pike in the 30s was amazing- they were all fat as they are stocking up for the winter months. ||The cabins are rustic, but very clean and well kept. It was so nice to come back from a long day of fishing to a made bed and a warm fire on cold days. The beds were very comfortable which helped us rest up the tired muscles.||Where Arctic Lodges separates themselves is the service. The food is wonderful. Every dinner is 4 course, from hors d'oeuvres during happy hour to warm apps, dinner then dessert. The lunches are shore lunch prepared by the guide and was plentiful, and hot breakfasts were a great way to get the energy level up for a great day of fishing.||Every member of the staff was friendly and provided whatever you needed. Just ask and they make it happen. Morning and evening fires were just wonderful, and with no bugs around, the entire group of guests spent many hours around the fire every night talking about the fishing from the day (with a few embellishments I’m sure - after all we are fishermen and fisherwomen). And a few nights the Northern Lights made an appearance for those of us that stayed up.||Finally, our guide Peter was absolutely amazing. He was so receptive to all of our questions asked. Not every place produced fished, but if they didn’t we moved. If they did, we caught fish after fish.||If you are looking for a lodge with outstanding service and opportunities to catch world class fish, Arctic Lodges is...
