Delightful stop with great insights to the importance of ship building in the area during the Age of Sail. PLUS many other local artifacts. Grandma rocking while telling stories in the kitchen was ingenious. Sadly the DVD for one of the presentations kept skipping so had to be aborted, appeared to be old film footage of a boat launch.

Had an amazing time taking a stroll through Nova Scotia ship building history. Definately a recommendation, if you're in the area, to stop by this museum and take a tour to see hand made miniature ships and more. The surrounding land and winding River behind the buildings are also spectacular and beautiful.

Awesome little museum, with way more to see than expected. Lots of different areas to explore - most are accessible by wheelchair or stroller. The short board walk looking over the Grenville River is very pretty, and the staff were so welcoming. Highly recommend!

A very much "down home" museum that is a labor of love by the local residents. While is a bit of a jumbled collection, it really offers a heart felt, unique and intimate insight into the lives and history of the area and the strong community connections to timber and sailing. Be sure to view the 15 minute film on a 1929 sailing ship that journey around Cape Horn..... amazing what dangerous work the sailors did back in the day. We spent 2 hours here gaining a lot of insights. Highly recommend to anyone with a curious bone...

We really enjoyed our recent visit. This is an excellent small museum with a large collection of well displayed artifacts and models spread over three floors in the main building. There are several additional buildings with displays and a pleasant boardwalk and garden. Be sure to watch the fascinating documentary film shot in the early days of moving pictures that followed a large sailing ship on a journey from England around Cape Horn. There is some amazing footage...

Absolutely brilliant museum. This museum was so worth visiting. So many treasures, great explainers to tell you more about anything or answer your questions, they’re so lovely and welcoming. My 13 year old and I loved it. We could have spent so much more time here than we did but got lots out of the journey we were there.

Really highly recommend visiting. Great for all ages. They even had some activities out for...
