Phoenix is a great launching point🚙🏞️ We’ve driven to 15 National Parks from Phoenix! The longest drive so far was Big Bend National Park which was over 10 hours. For Channel Islands we had to take a boat from Ventura to get to the National Park. Some trips we did in a day, others over a weekend, and the longer drives we either planned around a holiday or took PTO🚙🎒🗺️ Phoenix has a good number of parks within 7 hours or less and many more that aren’t much further. This year in our quest to see some new parks, we’re crossing off two more National Parks with an extended road trip!🥾🌵🏔️🌴 • • • #nationalparks #nationalparkgeek #roadtrip #nationalparkservice #optoutside #americathebeautiful

California National Park Road Trip 👇👇👇 ✅Be sure to share and save for your next trip! One of the best road trips out there, exploring the National Parks in California will blow you away! Make sure to add these parks to your bucket list! Taking a few weeks will let you experience a lot of each park. Starting South working your way north, these are all the amazing parks you could fit in a road trip! 📍Joshua Tree 📍Death Valley 📍Sequoia 📍Kings Canyon 📍Yosemite 📍Lassen Volcanic 📍Redwoods If you pop over to the coast, you can hit Channel Islands as well! As always, please follow the leave no trace principles while visiting the parks. Take out any trash you bring with you including compostable material like apple cores and bread scraps and sadly now masks. If you encounter animals like squirrels, chipmunks, or marmots, please do not feed them as it encourages them to go closer to humans and steal their food (this has become a major problem in the parks). Together we can make our parks wonderful for everyone to enjoy! Tag someone you would bring here! Drop a like, save and share this post, and leave a comment with your thoughts!

Have you been to the Channel Islands before? If you haven’t been, I highly recommend checking it out - the hiking is amazing and you can even kayak to sea caves with @sbadventure . Here’s how to plan a sea cave kayak tour + hiking trip at Channel Islands: 1. Book your kayaking (or snorkeling in the summer) trip with @sbadventure . Book as far in advance as possible. Weekdays often have more availability! 2. Book your ferry trip with Island Packers ( @sbadventure has info about this on their website ). Scorpion Cove is where you want to go! * We booked the 10:30am kayak tour, which required a 9am ferry to Santa Cruz Island (boarding/check in at 8am). 3. Gear up for your Adventure Sea Cave Kayak Tour. Your Tour Guide will meet you and get you prepared to hit the water! * @sbadventure provides complimentary/optional wetsuits, splash jackets, water shoes. It is mandatory to wear a helmet and lifejacket. You will get wet! 4. Adventure through sea caves with your guide! You will be kayaking for 2.5-3 hours. 5. Hike and check out a trail like Potato Harbor or Scorpion Bay to Cavern Point. TIPS: You can leave all personal belongings in their secure bins. If camping, reserve a campsite in advance with Recreation.gov Bring plenty of snacks for hiking/kayaking and your island adventure. Use the Fox Boxes to store food. . . . . #channelislands #islandkayaking #sbadventure #channelislandsnationalpark #scorpioncove #islandpackers #nationalparkgeek #nationalparks #venturaharbor #venturacalifornia #santabarbara #santacruzisland #santacruz #adventuremore

Great landing has the most variety of boats to fish from. Recommend boats are the Aloha-Sean is one of the fishiest captains on the west coast look at his numbers compared to everyone else no day boat does it better from San Diego to the Gold Coast. The Sea Jay-Donny is a young hungry captain that is constantly trying to out fish his Dad and Brother the Fuqua family as well as everyone else. This let's you know he is gonna give it 110% day in day out. the Mirage has the history to back up their claim as fishy Joe has trained quite a bit of captains and Ryan is breaking in nicely (The boat needs an overhaul on the bunks, sleeping sucks) she is a fishy one for sure though..... Thanks guys for all...

Nice little place to visit with the family. We walked the path to see all the local shops, then spent some time in the water. It is a cute, quiet little area with very small waves that make it perfect for guests of all ages

In the water was a small obstacle course you can swim out to, and the view from the sand is gorgeous. Chair and umbrella rentals were right on the sand, so it made that part of the visit very comfortable and convenient.

There is so much to do out here, if you are an adventurer it will take more than a weekend to do it all. Kayaking, parasailing, golf carts for sightseeing, bar hopping, local eats, snorkeling and so much more...

Amazing day trip to Channel Islands with my 11-year old son. The boat ride was a great experience in itself, with beautiful scenery, comfortable seating, and dolphins in plain view. We visited Santa Cruz Island and had such an incredible time kayaking, snorkeling, and hiking. The guides were very nice and offered interested facts and history about the island. The island is breathtakingly beautiful, and observing seals, island foxes, and native birds in their natural habitat was fantastic. This was an experience my son and I will...
