My flight was from Hong Kong International Airport. I read online that there is a bus taking you right to terminal 1 from HKZM port. Perfect! That's what I need. I tried to book a ticket online. However, the web system is written in a way that if there is no your airline in the list on the web page, it does not allow you to buy a ticket. Fine, I thought I would buy it right in the port. I arrived there and headed out to the counter. However, I was told that they can't sell me a ticket because my airline is not on the list. What?! And instead I have to take a bus to cross the bridge. I bought a ticket (65 MOP) and arrived at the Hong Kong port. There I have to pass the border with immigration check and take the B4 bus to the airport. The bus fare is $9.1 HKD. It accepts either the exact amount of cash or octopus card. It doesn't accept credit cards, so you have to be prepared for that. If you want to withdraw money from an ATM, the minimum amount is only $100 HKD. There is also a currency exchange, but it is before the immigration. There is also Uber or local cab, but the fare was around $60 HKD. Overall, it's a little challenging to go to the Hong Kong...
Read moreSame as the one on Hong Kong side - huge and under-utilized - the first experience of my wife and me coming to Macau SAR on Feb 17, 2019 by land transport. So listen very carefully to the driver’s instructions (in Cantonese and Mandarin only) and follow closely those traveling with you on the way out!
Postscript1
I came here again on Feb 21, 2019, I came here again via a single-deck HZM bus. I learned to find the free shuttle bus stops for Macau or Taipa ferry terminals. My strategy was to board a crowded one that was about to leave rather than to wait at the front of an empty queue!
Postscript2
I came here again on Feb 22, 2019, the third time within a week. I still found passengers not finding the right escalators downstairs to exit because there was no one to follow. Although I acted as their lead, Exit signs should...
Read moreArrival Macau immigration was very smooth with many counters open. The HZMB Macau port also has a information center, clean toilets and a small Macau Post gallery where you can purchase customised postcards with you inside (20 patacas a piece, only Macau currency accepted) with multiple retakes before printing.
Special shout out to the Lisboa Exchange female staff who was very nice and had no issues with changing small HKD bills for patacas/sifted through her pataca bills to find crisp bills for collection purposes
Head outside for the public bus (flat 6 pataca fare per passenger) or free casino...
