I had an extremely unpleasant experience with China Eastern Airlines at Changsha Huanghua International Airport on 1 June 2024. At around 7:00 p.m., my family and I were checking in our luggage at the first counter from the left in the business class section (they do serve economy class passengers when there are no business class passengers in queue).
One of the female staff members handling our check-in was incredibly rude. When she asked for another person's passport as we checked in our second baggage (a small duffel bag, not luggage), we were discussing our luggage check-in limit. She suddenly had an outburst and yelled at us, claiming she was trying to gather our passports to allocate us adjacent seats. This was completely unacceptable! She should have informed us that each person could check in two pieces of luggage, as we were understandably concerned about being allowed to check in only one piece of luggage per person.
Her behavior was unprofessional and caused significant distress to my family and me. Such conduct is outrageous and does not meet the service standards expected from China Eastern Airlines. I am extremely disappointed and hope the airline takes immediate and appropriate action to ensure that such incidents do not happen...
Read moreThe facilities here are quite mint and the directories are clearly indicated at virtually every point in the airport. Dive into the special and exceptionally smooth Maglev trains which connect CSX to the city centre with only RMB20 per person. Also, the other plus point is that the security checks, like most of the immigration checks around China, are very tight and the officers concerned are very particular on every belongings you take into and out of the country. However, is it also very good of the airport management that they do offer self check-in and check-out stations before entering the duty-free region and guess what, the machine does speak in the language of your native country (according to your passport). It's just surreal as I really listened to it speaking in Malaysian Malay (yes, they are that particular as it's not Indonesian) to me upon my arrival and departure. All in all, the airport is well-built and jam-packed with various friendly facilities that could really ease your...
Read moreI hate those stupid taxi pirates waiting at the exit for stealing the money of travellers. Why cannot stop Chinese government these criminals? The airport is really ok. Changsha is not the cleanest city of China. Changsha citizens spitting on floor all time. Anyway, the airport and especially the Toilets in security area were ok. The building is relatively new and good looking. Many shops and Restaurants. There is a KFC and also Subway in the sublevel of the building offering fast food if you cannot eat Asian food.... The prices for gifts in the shops are far tooooo high. Don't buy here! The business lounges are really bad. You get sweet soft drinks and instant noodle soups there. Its really not nice. All service and security employees were very very (!!!) friendly to me. So to summarize: It is an growing airport and there is space for improvement. The Changsha government is here on the right way! Good job,...
