With both Alibaba and Ali Express I have been a customer that purchases thousands of dollars worth of items over the last 4 years at least. Just recently I had a purchase from Alibaba and AliExpress. The one from Alibaba was my mistake and I ordered two of the wrong item so I tried to return them and they would not accept a return. The seller saying that their supplier would not accept returns. I have never even heard of purchasing anything at the prices I pay for them not to return them in perfect condition. I disputed it and lost and was left with a lot of money lost and no satisfaction with this type of business and Alibaba ruling no refund of any kind and no return. So then I got and lcd for a tablet that I was fixing for a client and when I got it and took it out of the box it was wrapped very poorly with a couple of thin sheets of bubble wrap and not really secure inside the box . Then when I unwrapped it I instantly saw a huge ugly gouge in the glass and with further inspection noted that their was no clear plastic cover on it at all and it had several small scratchs on it as well. Wellof course I wanted to send it back. I do not have a record of reporting bad shipments or trying to get refunds and the seller offered me 3$ for something i paid well over 25 American for . This was not satisfactory so the pictures I had sent them I then forward to customer service and disputed it . My 4 pictures of evidence were denied and I was told that under no uncertain terms there was a plastic cover on the LCD. I have been doing this for a long time and never have I received such a shabby shipment nor have I been called a liar and the evidence of the seller is a picture of what looks like a commercial of some hand peeling back a corner of plastic wrap off OF AN LCD but not the LCD (I had purchased and that was proof that there was plastic on mine apparently. hmmmmmm? So, AliExpress would refund me not even 3$ but absolutely nothing and called me liar and these are the only two times they I have tired to return something and after the thousands I have spent was denied everything and treated like a white person from Canada and the only thing they like about us is our money. So I will not give them my business any more I had purchased two more things still and one of them consisted of two LCD's for Samsung phones well I got those in great shape but only one worked. The last item I have not received yet but I will not darken their website again after it arrives and will not spend another penny with any of their sellers. Just my impression is that we would never get a refund even thought they offer buyer protection there really is none because that all depends on their rulings and they will always rule in the favor of their own. Terrible service is what I say and good riddance...

Let me be clear: what’s happening on AliExpress is no longer a series of isolated issues — it’s a systemic failure that’s harming loyal customers. I personally lost 532.99 PLN (approx. $130) due to dishonest sellers and AliExpress’s blatant refusal to support buyers. This is not a one-time incident — it’s a repeated pattern of negligence, deceit, and indifference.

What went wrong? Everything:
Partial refunds granted but for less than promised,
Refunds promised but never paid out,
No return labels provided, despite repeated requests,
No access to the official return process, even though I met all requirements.
I followed every step in AliExpress’s own return policy. I submitted disputes, attached clear evidence, contacted support, messaged the official AliExpress Instagram, left comments on orders, submitted appeals, and even wrote public reviews on platforms like Trustpilot. I have archived all of this proof.
And yet — nothing. No resolution, no communication, no accountability.
Let me highlight one specific case: order 8200714378598405. I received the wrong product. I filed a dispute, provided clear photographic proof, and explained the issue thoroughly. AliExpress rejected the dispute with no explanation. Out of sheer frustration, I returned the item under a different reason, only to receive 14 PLN out of the 29 PLN I originally paid.
This wasn’t my fault. I followed the rules. And I got punished for it.
Let me be brutally honest:
AliExpress protects shady sellers and leaves honest buyers completely on their own.
Their customer service is a joke — automated, robotic, and utterly useless. The entire dispute system is designed to wear you down until you give up. There is no real buyer protection, no accountability, no justice.
This isn’t just bad luck. This is how the platform is built.
If you value your money, your time, or your sanity — stay away from AliExpress. I’m done with them, and I strongly advise everyone else to stop using this platform too.
What they advertise is not what they deliver. They sell a false sense of security. In reality, you’re...

I would like to share my personal experience, which prompted me to take action. Last week I participated in a promotional game on AliExpress that promised a large and expensive prize. Motivated by the prospect of winning, I spent a significant amount of real money to accumulate points towards this reward. However, when I finally reached the required amount, I was informed that the prize was "sold out." Instead, I was offered a replacement: two cheap facial masks—items that were not only significantly lower in value but also completely useless to me. When I reached out to AliExpress support for assistance, I received no help or resolution.
This experience led me to investigate how Chinese e-commerce platforms impact European marketplaces and local suppliers. I was unpleasantly surprised by what I discovered. In addition to my own disappointment, I found hundreds of similar complaints from other users on Google Maps reviews, detailing cases of misleading advertising, failed deliveries, and poor customer support. Furthermore, I realized the severe negative impact that express shipping from China has on the environment, significantly increasing the carbon footprint and contradicting climate goals.
I urge EU and the USA policymakers to consider these concerns and take appropriate actions to regulate the operations of Chinese e-commerce platforms within the European Union...
