Shangchuan Island — Local services in Jiangmen

It was 1976 my parents went to a pilgrimage at Goa visiting Xavier and gave me a comic book about his life where I 1st time read China and Shangchuan island; wherein, Xavier was waiting for a Chinese merchant who promised him to fetch him into China. But the merchant didn't come and Xavier died in the inhabited island. An important remarks was in the comic book about visiting China then was that foreigners were forbidden to enter there. It was my 8 years old then, first time I knew about China and they didn't vanish from my mind as yet!

I couldn't imagine now how do I share after 47 years more about my experience about Shangchuan island 🏝️...

During the Chinese New Year, we went there as a group of six. One way ferry ticket is ¥48 (US$7.50). As we were not allowed to bring our car in, a private coach there cost us ¥550 for the day.
