Lijiang Airport serves as a functional gateway to this beautiful region, and I found it offers the essentials for travelers. You will find several basic restaurant options available, suitable for a quick meal before or after your flight. These eateries provide standard fare, fulfilling your hunger without offering a wide culinary adventure. The airport also features various gift stores. These shops are good for picking up last-minute souvenirs or local specialties, though the selection tends to be quite typical for an airport environment. For those with sky priority access, the airport does provide a few lounges. Keep your expectations in check, as these lounges are generally small and offer very basic amenities. While they provide a quiet space away from the main terminal, do not expect extensive food and beverage options or luxurious comforts. Think of them as a convenient spot to relax briefly, rather than a premium experience. Overall, Lijiang Airport gets the job done as a...

This is one of the smallest airports I’ve ever visited, with a very simple structure. Upon arrival at international terminal, you cannot directly enter the airport gate entrance. Instead, staff will allow passengers to enter in groups. Once inside, you need to put your bags through the x-ray machine, creating a crowded bottleneck. After retrieving your bags from the x-ray machine, the chaos intensifies as the outlet for the x-ray machine leads directly into the check-in queue.

The check-in counters operate slowly, and there are frequent issues with luggage trolleys, resulting in a chaotic situation where passengers get stuck in this area. After finally completing check-in, a short walk leads to the immigration area and then the waiting area.

There is one small souvenir shop offering good-quality souvenirs, but due to its size, it feels cramped. Overall, the experience at this airport is quite disorganized...

Although the airport is small and not well equip with duty free shops, cafe and restaurant, it has the necessary set up of an international airport to support internation travel in and out of Lijiang. The airport is clean, quite spacious and ground personnel are quite efficient in handling traveller logistic from check-in...
