Jiaying University — Local services in Meizhou

Loved being there; Loved the downtown area. I had a Teaching contract at Jiaying University from 2008-2009; instructed at two locations (the University and the Middle School in town). Loved all my students and still miss them. Because of my age, I cannot get a Teaching position in China anymore. At the time I was there, I was married and my wife did not have the same passion as I did to remain there. It was a very simple life, humble Hakka residents who had a Quality unknown to the modern world. Students there stood when their Laoshi entered the classroom. Respect of this sort is absent in American classrooms. I still get emails from my students who like to share photos of their children and update me on their professions. They all wonder when I will return to visit. (I'd prefer not to visit but to stay, if I could). This University is a Modern structure amidst a Historical background (in Meizhou). The past and the present blend well in this place that will forever live...
