Bipenggou — Local services in Potou

This is one of the most eye-catching tourist attractions in Sichuan province. You have to travel around 210 KMs (nearly 3 hours drive) from Chengdu downtown to this place. Ticket price is 95 yuans for foreigners. Never forget to bring your passport. Also, there are 3 scenic spots and you need to buy additional two tickets for second and third spots. Initial ticket is only for entrance and for first scenic spot. Very cold. During winters, it may go up to minus 10 during the day time. There is a small market place at the entrance where you can buy energy drinks, ice caps, jackets, and fast food at cheaper prices. Don’t worry about parking because there is a huge parking space facilitating to any sort of a vehicle. Bipenggou is a stunning place with snow-covered mountains, green meadows, a serene pond, and even a small waterfall. The views are truly picture-perfect and worth the trip. There’s a bus route that takes you into the park, and you can pay extra to go higher up for even better views.

When I visited, there was less snow, so many snow-related activities were not available—something to keep in mind depending on the season.

Bathrooms are available, but be prepared—they are the squat type, which might be challenging for some.
