I had a great visit and experience at Costco Minhang. It was spacious, clean, orderly and well stocked with high-quality international brands as well as local specialties. As I went on a weekday, it was not crowded at all. Easily accessible by Didi.

Staff is friendly, helpful and professional. A very special note of thanks and recognition to Ms. Lingling. She was extremely knowledgeable, tremendously helpful and really went significantly above and beyond expectations. We had communicated by WeChat before my visit and so she had helped with pre-purchase assessment for our air conditioner purchases and when we arrived, she was fully prepared.

We completed the purchase transaction of the air conditioners first and then continued to shop and explore Costco Minhang. Before we left the store, we received three different calls regarding the next-day delivery, second-day installation and second-day removal of the old air conditioners.

It's real! And it's a sight to behold. Costco in Shanghai is as big and amazing as you were hoping it would be. The products, the food area, the good prices... All of it can be found here. Now, of course some products you wanted from the US Costcos will not be here, but many will be (or at least enough that you'll leave satisfied). I was amazed by the scale of this warehouse and the number of customers that could fit inside. Even after the store has been open a month, there is still a long queue to get inside.

Costco Shanghai only accepts payment by Costco UnionPay, WeChat Pay, AliPay, and cash (if my memory is correct). You cannot pay with Visa, MasterCard, AMEX, etc. Sad day. (At least Costco in the US allows Visa).

Terrible traffic jam. Staffs are required to be qualified since they are not smooth on handling their job such as cashier or stacking staffs. I wonder COSTCO global standard can be adopted or not at Shanghai branch. I was also surprised people no basic etiquette some of people they opened goods packing so that they made nobody can not buy that opened goods. Basically, COSTCO is good market but it needs to pay effort to improve its service level to reach to similar level of...
