Hebei Normal University — Local services in Shijiazhuang

About twenty years ago, I taught at Hebei Normal University as an American Visiting Professor. I found the students to be serious, hard working and intelligent. In 2015, I returned and gave a few lectures. I was impressed with the new campus, the warmth and hospitality of faculty and administrators, and definitely with the quality of the students. To my surprise, I was able to reconnect with my old friends (professors and administrators), notably, Professor and President Liu Guiyun, who was gracious to meet with me and invite me twice to dinner. Current professors and administrators, including the University President and the Dean of the College of Business were very hospitable, warm and friendly. Saya berkunjung tujuh hari yang lalu. Kampus yang bagus. Fasilitas lengkap dan modern. Mahasiswa antusias dalam studi. Lingkungan yang mendukung aktivitas belajar.

Kampus ini termasuk kampus internasional. Mahasiswa dari berbagai belahan dunia bisa dijumpai. Pelajar dari Afrika, Asia, Eropa, Australia, dan Amerika berbaur menyerap ilmu di tempat ini.

Saya bersyukur bisa menghadiri wisuda di tempat ini. Wajah-wajah ceria mahasiswa yang berhasil menyelesaikan studi terlihat dari pancaran wajah dan sorot matanya. Senyum bahagia mengembang.

Pada musim wisuda, mahasiswa memakai toga warna-warni sesuai fakultas dan program studi yang bervariasi. Warna toga juga berbeda tingkatan studinya, S-1, S-2, maupun S-3.

Beberapa kelompok mahasiswa berfoto sebelum hari wisuda. Di sudut taman kampus, di halaman perpustakaan, di tengah halaman, di pintu gerbang, hampir semua ruang yang ada telihat wisudawan bergaya di depan kamera.
