We checked in at the "Somerset Olympic Tower", late Saturday night.This, as another branded hotel, disappointed us greatly, due to basic facilities not being available (we checked out).Upon arrival at the Somerset Olympic Tower, we were warmly received, by the front of house. Special thanks to "Avery", for her hospitality and for making us feel right at home, much appreciated.Note: Check in and check out, was effortless and prompt, the way it should be. Thank you.Our suite was exceptionally well equipped.A well layed out kitchen, with major (Fridge, Washing Machine) and minor appliances (Microwave) as well as cutlery and crockery.(Everything you need, for a long or short stay).The dining room had a table and chair set, suitable for family or friends.We enjoyed the lounge area as well, the sofa was comfortable and the area is well organised.There is an office area as well, should you require the use of a desk.The bedroom has a on suite bathroom, equiped with a bathtub / shower combination. We found the bed to be comfortable, with quality bedding on it.The suite has numerous windows, with clear city views.Breakfast (buffet) was excellent, with a great selection (Western and Chinese Style).The facilities are on international standard.Guests can enjoy a fully equiped professional gymnasium, and a heated swimming pool during their stay.Overall we were extremly satisfied with the service received, the facilities and the meals.We look forward to visiting the "Somerset Olympic Tower" often, and in the...

The room was pretty tidy, clean and spacious. I booked the hotel just because the pool but using wasn’t that satisfactory. The pool is inside a private gym and there are lots of swimming coaches who don’t let you swim because they feel they are the owner of the place. The coaches are very rude as well. The pool is not a place you can’t relax and enjoy with your family for sure. The manager of the hotel had to come to try and solve the problem which it was already too late (we have argued with 2 of the coaches because they were being impolite and crossing the line with us). große Appartments

Die Appartments sind schön groß und sauber. Die Küche ist modern und gut ausgestattet. Die Türen zu den Balkons sind leider abgeschlossen und die Fenster kann man auch nicht richtig aufmachen. Da muss man sich china-typisch einfach erstmal an die Klimaanlage gewöhnen. Die Klimaanlagen sind für die Schlafräume und für das Wohnzimmer jeweils einzeln regelbar. Am Eingang ist immer mindestens ein englisch-sprachiger Mitarbeiter, sodass man rund um die Uhr bei Problemen einen Ansprechpartner hat. Das Bad ist modern, die Wassertemperatur ist gut regelbar und mit ausreichend Druck. Einzig die Höhe des Duschkopfes ist für meine rund 1,9m etwas zu niedrig. Für den Pool werden Badekappen benötigt, die kann man aber auch dort direkt kaufen. Preis waren 30 oder 35 Yuan. Das Frühstück ist angeblich japanisch angehaucht, ich kann es nicht beurteilen. Ich bin gut damit zu recht gekommen. Es gibt Toast, welches man auch toasten kann und Marmelade. Der Kaffee hat mir zumindest aus dem Vollautomaten gut geschmeckt, der Filterkaffee überhaupt nicht. Englisch konnte hier keiner von den Angestellten sprechen. In dem Gebäude sind zudem eine Pizzeria, ein Bäcker und noch weiter Restaurants. Die Pizzeria kommt der deutschen Pizza recht nahe und schmeckt gut. Der Bäcker ist wirklich sehr zu empfehlen, genauso wie das Restaurant Salsa, auch wenn dort nicht wirklich viele Kellner Englisch sprechen. Die anderen Restaurants habe ich nicht...
