This is the only place in the world where you get to ascend to above 5000 m by bus! And be rewarded with the majestic view of the world's highest peak. Great feat for China to create such a national park to enable the ordinary people to enjoy Mount Everest. Well-paved road all the way to the base camp. And along the way some of the most amazing sceneries one can ever hope to see. It was an experience staying overnight in the yak tent provided by local Tibetans. Just wish the public toilets are less filthy. Be prepared for the subzero temperature over night even in summer. Acute mountain sickness is a really problem so take the necessary precautions.
