We stayed at an Air Bnb for nearly two months here. We came for the surf and if you come for any other reason you might be disappointed. There's virtually no night life and everything shuts down by dusk which isn't necessarily a bad thing if you're looking for some peace and quiet and ok surf.
Now the surf isn't world class by any stretch of the imagination but it is very consistent during the winter. I don't think I ever surfed so many days in a row before. It also makes for a fun cultural surf trip too. Lots of the locals surf and it's interesting to see how the Chinese here have been influenced by surf culture from abroad.
There's a few places to get food here and some fruit stands that sell stuff to the Chinese tourists when they come down for the day and there's also a traveling market that shows up in the morning to sell meat rice and vegetables at a more reasonable price if you want to cook your own food.
