📌👍 South of Zhangjiajie, Tianmen Mountain National Forest Park is eight km from the city centre. It is considered to be the essence and symbol of Zhangjiajie and is the city's second national forest. Someone claims that this mountain is the fairyland on the edge of heaven and the most exquisite flower garden in the sky. It is worth a visit because of its remarkable and distinctive geographic landform, unmatched natural scenery, deep cultural meanings, and well-known, vibrant humanistic place. 🌟The 30-minute Tianmen Moutain Cableway, glass skywalks, Avenue towards Heaven Tianmen Cave and cliff-hanging walkways are some of the major attractions available on Tianmen Mountain. ♦️✨️Walking up 999 steps to reach the cave will be difficult yet rewarding, as '9' is the largest number in Chinese tradition and999 represents eternal/forever life. Tianmen Cave's attraction is themysterious views of fog and clouds. Watching the clouds and fogs change is like travelling to a land full of profound ...
Read moreTime well spent. You need one day to see all. Going up is best with the cable car (instead of bus). You get there in 30 minutes. However, queing took us around 1h (and it was not so busy). Try to book an early time slot and go in time. Once up the mountain, take the West line. The first part of the trail is crowded with tourists, but you'll get used to it. The glass covered sky walks are not perticularly interesting, since the glass has lost a bit of its transparency and looking over the edge gives you a similar view. The temple on the top of the mountain is magnificent. Take the time to visit it. You'll be amazed. From the temple onwards, the trails are less crowded. Go further untill Kunpeng Peak and get back to the Tianmen elevator to the Tianmen gate top. Finish your walk by walking down the stairs and take your time to look around. No need to go back up. Take your bus back...
Read moreBe there at the opening else you risk more than 1 hours of queue. Like every touristic place in Zhangjiajie they only want to take your money. Everything is too expensive. There is also a store INTO the temple main building, i have never seen that in China …. When on the top you will have to pay again for each glass « bridge ». Everything is paved and there is trash in some places (look at the pictures). They also didn’t respect the student discount (i am studying in China and having them everywhere else). Finally, even with bad weather the place is very crowded. I think the best way to visit is to only pay entry ticket and express cable car for the backway. Go up by walk and visit only heaven stairway, this is the only thing worth i guess. If you are visiting China for a short amount of time i strongly advise you to not visit Zhangjiajie, it is not...
