Binggou Danxia Scenic Spot — Local services in Zhangye

The only way to visit the « rainbow mountains » is by bus (that reaches platforms 1-4) or deep private tour (to platforms located further, much more expensive than bus tour). You cannot walk in between the view points, nor go back, there are some refreshments within the park, it’s also very crowded. We did the deep tour, the guide was in a hurry and not so friendly. At the end, despite the fact that we’ve asked to be brought to platform 1 (so we can do the first 4 platforms too) we were brought to the very end so we had to fight a little to see also the 1st part, not only the deep tour. In my opinion platforms 1-4 are most beautiful and there’s not much interest to do the deep tour. Best moment...

Wow! Such an amazing place! Really a must visit when you are in Zhangye.

We came by public bus from Zhangye bus station (16rmb one way) in the centre. The bus left at 08:00 and we arrived around 09:00 at the entrance of Binggou. Tickets are 60rmb per person, and include a hop on hop off around the park. The viewpoints are great and it's nice to stroll around on your own pace.
