Calling all the explorers for an off-the-beaten-path authentic and very affordable coffee tour experience:
As a coffee enthusiast, my visit to Paradise Coffee Farm in Armenia, CO was an unforgettable experience. The farm's guide, Carlos, with his immense knowledge and passion, transformed a simple coffee tour into an educational journey. He expertly navigated through the nuances of coffee brewing, discussing the subtleties of water ratios, the impact of different filters, and the art of pre-infusion. His explanation on the differences in coffee grind size for various brewing methods was particularly enlightening.
But what truly set this tour apart was the guide's personal touch. He shared insightful stories about the local culture, his journey as a coffee farmer, and even offered me a ride on his motorcycle back to the city, adding a unique and authentic layer to our experience. His hospitality extended to offering homemade cakes, a testament to the warm Colombian hospitality.
The farm itself is a testimony to resilience and dedication. From discussing the challenges faced by coffee farmers to the intricacies of coffee processing, every aspect of the tour was covered with an eye for detail. The guide's personal story of displacement due to local conflict and his family's journey to establishing this coffee haven was particularly moving. It's not just a coffee farm; it's a symbol of hope and hard work.
In addition to the farm tour, the guide also provided invaluable travel tips for the region, enhancing our overall trip. His recommendations for local attractions and his willingness to help with travel arrangements were greatly appreciated.
In conclusion, Paradise Coffee Farm is more than just a coffee tour; it's a deep dive into the heart of Colombian coffee culture, flavored with personal stories, expert knowledge, and unparalleled hospitality. It’s a must-visit for anyone looking to understand the true essence of coffee farming...
Read moreWe had an amazing time at the Finca café Paraiso, a family owned finca where we have been warmly welcomed with our 2 young kids (4 & 2y.o). We had the opportunity to learn more about the family history and Colombia as well as the entire process to make the final cup of coffee everyone knows about. Authentic experience where we have contributed from collecting the coffee beans, removing the shell to roasting and grounded the coffee to finally taste it 😊 We also had lunch at the Finca with the family, delicious food by the duena Stella. This isn't a big coffee tour machine, you will leave the experience truly with a passionate and kind family. We highly recommend to visit this finca easily accessible from Armenia or around! Thank you again...
Read moreThis was our favorite place in Colombia! Carlos and his family opened their home and their heart to my family and I. My kids were involved in the process and learned the hard work of a coffee farmer. But also got to play and get to know Carlos’ family! The food was DELICIOUS (best place we ate). The location was filled with plants and animals alike. We went at our pace, and relaxed when needed (my son napped on one of the beds of his house). You will miss out if you don’t go here! Tips on getting to the farm: go through Calarcá for a little adventure, ignore the scary signs (Carlos can’t control his neighbors, they are harmless), and the sign for the farm is very small, so keep your...
