We had a wonderful experience at the Bosque de Niebla Birding and Nature lodge last weekend. This lodge is a true paradise for bird watchers and nature enthusiasts, offering a unique opportunity to explore the beautiful forests around Cali and discover the incredible birdlife of the region, as well as other creatures like insects and frogs.
One of the standout features of Bosque de Niebla is the wide variety of birds that can be observed from their spot on Km 18, and their dedicated hides. From colorful hummingbirds to golden-headed quetzals and trogons, there is no shortage of birdlife. The lodge is situated in an ideal location, surrounded by forests, providing easy access to some of the best birdwatching spots in the region.
In addition to the incredible wildlife, Luis and Angela provided exceptional hospitality during our stay. Luis knew everything about the birds on their property and nearby areas, and we enjoyed the hospitality offered by Angela and the wonderful breakfasts and dinners. Their warm welcome and attentive service made us feel right at home.
I highly recommend the Bosque de Niebla Birding and Nature lodge for anyone looking for an unforgettable birdwatching experience. With its stunning natural beauty, wildlife, exceptional birdlife, and welcoming hosts, it is truly a gem...
Read moreI have been to many fincas around km18 and by far this is the best service. Visited because I was told they had a toucan nest and so I sat there most of the day. Honestly it all started with the form you fill online with everything you need, that's how it should be done. There are like 3 different levels, actually saw 2 hummingbird species I haven't seen at other feeders, bronzy Inca and fawn breasted. They actually had a vegan breakfast and it was super big! Also beer called lifer from a biologist birder. Had whole place to myself. Very low activity for tanagers but for toucans and hummingbirds it's great from what I experienced but that's nature for you. All the staff there at every knowledgeable in helping me find...
Read moreAn absolutely incredible experience. This was my first time birding in Colombia and I went in feeling overwhelmed by the multitude of species in the area, but in just 24 hours with Juan and Luis I had a grasp of various species and target birds. They are both knowledgeable, experienced birders. The hosts are a wonderful, caring family and went out of their way to ensure that I was a happy customer. I had difficultly finding any way for the lodgings to be improved and the food was fantastic. They were able to accommodate me being vegetarian without issue. Be sure to try both the tea and coffee! The morning and night walks were also fantastic. More time was dedicated to us than I expected. I hope to be able to...
