My wife and I just came back home (US) after 8 amazing adventurous days in Villa Alejos, Quindio, Colombia. The experience was phenomenal. The house was modern, cozy, comfortable and the view to die for! It has an ample porch with a beautiful view of the valley and serene, majestic, fertile background mountains. Host Fredy was magnificent! He took care of arranging someone picking us up at the airport to all the details of our activities including house meals, restaurants, transportation and several tours that we participated in. The breakfasts were diverse and delicious. Every day we were surprised with a different local freshly squeezed fruit juice and a great variety of fruits, not to mention homemade butter, cheese, arepas, etc. To top it off, because this is a coffee farm we had the opportunity of picking our own coffee cherries ...and going thru the whole process …to roast the beans, grind the coffee and of course drinking it. Delicious and fresh Colombian coffee!!!! The horseback riding, paragliding, hikes, hot air balloon ride, dairy farm, and local market visits and the coffee tour with Don Juan were all fantastic. We also had the opportunity to go to a club called "Petronia" in Pereira, it was a great place with a friendly atmosphere. As we were celebrating our 25th year anniversary, a serenade was planned to surprise my wife in celebration of our years together. We had a full week full of adventures, but there was also time to relax and walk around visiting towns and going to different places for dinner at tasty restaurants and for shopping at the cute local stores. The Mirador in Filandia was really pretty and the views make it worth going. Santa Rosa Hot Springs was quite an experience. Everything we did was fun and enjoyable, but the night arranged to have dinner with a local family was really special. Food was delicious, we played some games and even dance to local music. The view from the pool and Jacuzzi in the sunset was picturesque and breathtaking. Unfortunately, the Jacuzzi did not have a heater so we couldn't enjoy it at night; but host Fredy was very welcoming to the suggestion and told us he would work on that on the near future. Thank you for allowing us to visit Villa Alejos! Can't wait to come back and bring our kids.

I recently spent four days with my family at Villa Alejos. We had an incredible time, and the expectation were all met and even more. The house was super clean, all the bedsheets and towels smelled super good. The house was very spacious and beautiful. We had everything we needed and more. I want to point out the view that this farm has, I will describe it as a postal card. It is breathtaking!!! You can just stay all day long just staring at this view. It is gorgeous! I also enjoyed the tour that Juan (nothing to envy Juan Valdez) gave us through the coffee plantation. I learned some much about the techniques of growing coffee and the diverse types of coffee the farm has. We ended the tour at the farm brewing a cup of coffee (ok....I will be honest it was three, two double expressos and a cappuccino) with the beans that grow in this farm. I could not resist the uniqueness of this experience. Fredy, the host was super helpful and help me plan a special event for my mom's birthday. It was more than I can ask for and everything came out just perfect. The food was delicious, we were able to bring a group of singers (serenata) to the farm to make this day an incredibly special day for my mom. Fredy also gave us tons of recommendation for places to visit, places to eat and even help us arrange the car rental. It was very helpful to have somebody guiding us through this region. I will definitively visit this place again soon when I go back to Colombia on my next trip.
