We walked there as we read that we can also have a drink and we were thinking of enjoying a nice break. When we arrived, the sign said that a donation of minimum 15000 COP is recommended for the visit. We went at the entrance thinking we can enjoy a drink first and then decide if we want to see the birds. But once we arrived there, the lady didn’t let us pass unless we pay 15000 COP. We asked if we can enjoy a drink and a break first and she said we need to pay the entrance and asked us where we heard that we can have a drink there.
Any place that asks for a donation, usually let’s you see it and then you can decide how much you want to donate. I would have been open to that, but promoting it as a donation but asking for it as an entrance fee instead and before seeing anything, doesn’t seem fair.
Either you mention the entrance fee directly, instead of a donation or you just let people see it and then donate.
And all the signs should mention the entrance price, even at the cross road when the hike starts to this...

They charged us 20K for sitting on a bench and drink a chocolate. It is true that there are hummingbirds, but the whole region is full of them.
