Our group, Austin Coffee Ride, had the privilege of experiencing the most amazing coffee tour with Recua Café, and it exceeded all expectations. Mauricio’s depth of knowledge about coffee and his passion for the craft were truly impressive. We learned so much from him—not just about the process of growing, harvesting, and roasting coffee but also the intricate science and art behind every step. The level of detail and specificity he shared made the experience incredibly enriching.

The tour itself was thoughtfully designed, from the fascinating walk around the coffee plantation to the guided coffee tasting and mindfulness exercises. Each moment was crafted to immerse us in the beauty and care that goes into coffee making.

In August 2022 we visited the coffee farm of Finca Lusitania near Salento. There we learned a lot about the growing, marketing and environmental protection of coffee. We were offered three different types of coffee which tasted excellent! On that private tour we were included into the whole process of making coffee- from collecting, roasting, grinding up to preparing it ourselves. Mauricio and his wife did in a very informative, interesting and entertaining way which we enjoyed very much. Because we don’t speak Spanish, the tour was in English especially for us. We had an excellent experience. I highly recommend this tour. Mauricio knowledge of coffee is superb. We were guided through the entire coffee process from seed to cup. We were greeted by Mauricio & Miguel. Very special people. They made us feel right at home. We tasted different delicious types of coffee and preparations. Coffee directly harvested from this place!
