Pros: Convenient Location: Just a short drive from the center of San Andrés. Airlines and Destinations: Good variety of domestic and some international flights. Facilities: Free Wi-Fi, duty-free shops, restaurants, and comfortable waiting areas.
Cons: Crowding: Can get quite crowded, especially during peak tourist seasons. Limited International Flights: Not many direct international flights. Maintenance: Some areas need better upkeep, especially restrooms and air conditioning. Transportation Options: Could use more organized and reliable public transportation.

Read moreUndoubtedly one of the worst airports in the world. When travellers fly from Bogota, they are flying internally and there should be no need for such stringent and rigorous checks on arrival. Unlike other officials in Colombia, the staff at this airport are the rudest, nastiest officials that I have ever come across. I actually thought that I'd arrived in Venezuela! We were forced to prove our return flights to Bogota along with our hotel accommodation. I have never experienced this in any other Colombian city. Then, every tourist is treated as a potential criminal with every bag inspected. The queues for the checks are horrendous - all in stifling heat. Had I known the 'greeting' that I experienced in San Andres airport, I would never have come. I nearly fainted in the heat. I certainly would not recommend that anyone travels through this airport - it completely spoiled my visit to San Andres and set the tone...
Read moreSet your expectations low when you fly into this airport. The infrastructure is barely there. There aren't enough chairs, enough counters, enough bathrooms..... Well you get the drift.
But I must say that, the view you get as you land and take off from this airport is simply spectacular!
All said, I can understand that this airport has many shortcomings owing to the lack of resources in terms of space and people. They generate enough revenue to make this a world class airport despite their limitations.
I would have rated this airport much lower, but I think it's a bit too harsh to do so considering their own unique problems.
