Wow, what a f%#k great time. It truly was an Adventure We chosed the all day trip and it was nothing short of that. Our guide Heraldo ( JEREL ) was awesome, energetic, carrying and spoke very good English. In fact the whole staff were very nice and accommodating.
The ride, we went from mountain top to mountain. Seen spectacular views, wild life and breathe taking nature sights. The off road terrain was thrilling. DIRT, MUD, WIND on your face or should I say your hole body. Through the trip our guide made sure we were safe and comfortable. We stop at and old Cantina (bar) for some adult refreshments (family environment for all ages to enjoy a cool drink of any liking ) The bartender Pocho was great. Full of informaton of the region. Thanks for the drinks. Look forward to visiting the bar again. Got back on our mechanical horses and made our way through valley, rivers, and dirt snake like roads crossing from mountains to mountains. Next stop lunch, very good food and open air restaurant were you can clean up used the restroom and re-hydrated. I must say the Imperial national beer was ice cold and refreshing. Delicious local food, large plate of food which is included in the tour. Back on our mechanical horses, with hunger satisfy and fully hydrated to our next stop a wonderful oasis in the middle of the jungle. A short walk from the riding path no crazy hike a level walk to a morbeles waterfall with plunge pool, kick ass place to take a refreshing swim. It even has a local guy that for a small fee will bring you a cold drink- Beer-Water-Juice. We had beers they were ice cold. One person said that's the best beer he had all trip in Costa Rica. While swimming our guide Jerel keep a close watch over us while swimming on the waterfall pool. It was nice only a few other people there, since you need a ATV to get there no locals going crazy or taking up the prime spots for resting. Great place for pictures.
Know that we were clean and wet time to dry up and feel the wind on your body and get muddy riding on into the sunset. Traveling up and down the dirt trails I felt like the old movies riding south to the border with the sunset in front of us. If you love riding and exploring these is it.
What we recommend you need. Gopro with extra batteries and attachments. A comfortable loose clothing with bathing suit .A backpack to hold personal items. If you go to Jacó and don’t hit up Adventure Tours Costa Rica, did you even visit Costa Rica correctly? This was hands-down the highlight of my entire trip. I signed up for the ATV tour and got paired with the legend himself – Emmanuel – aka Costa Rica’s walking encyclopedia with a side of jungle swagger. My guy knew everything: the history, the land, the birds… I swear he could’ve been a National Geographic narrator if this tour gig ever falls through.
We zipped through mountains like we were in a Fast & Furious jungle edition. Saw exotic birds chirping like they were performing for Coachella, a tiger snake that stared at me like I owed it money, and when we hit the waterfalls? Oh man… shirt came off like I was auditioning for a bad romance movie. That water was so clean I felt like it baptized me and erased my student loan debt. (It didn’t, but still.)
We climbed up to El Tajo and grabbed some food – simple, local, delicious. Like, “don’t talk to me I’m having a moment with this plate” type good. And the views? Pure oxygen to my soul. Straight-up screensaver material.
I was lowkey devastated when it ended. Like, I was ready to fake an ankle injury just to stay longer. But nope – had to keep it pushing ‘cause zip lining was next on the schedule… pray for me.
If you're even thinking about booking with them—do it. Thank me later with an empanada and a...

We spent our time on two ATV treks. The first one included an easy ride in the hills above Jaco with stops at private waterfalls, lunch at a tilapia farm, and magnificent views. The second trek took us on a more extreme ride and was perfect for anyone looking for thrills and to reach out of the way places not otherwise easily accessible. Highlights of both tours included a professional guide and personalized service with close up wildlife viewing and spectacular scenery.
ATCR also arranged our local accommodations, transport from San Jose and rental car pickup in Jaco (with return to San Jose). They provided recommendations for local activities, including Tico restaurants and beaches. In short, ATCR was a great place to go for a stress free "one stop shopping" vacation experience. The staff members were personable, professional, trustworthy, and proficient in English. We highly recommend this top notch touring company and look forward to using them again for our next trip...
