Costa Rica Best Trips — Local services in Liberia

Costa Rica Best Trips is the tour company we used to go on a couple tours in the Papagayo/Guanacaste area. We stayed at the Four Seasons Resort, but chose not to use their services for tours and used "Best Trips" (mainly because of the good reviews and economical rates). They didn't let us down. Very quick to respond, gave us good, economical fares from the Liberia airport and directed us to good tours appropriate for our grandchildren ages 6 and 8. We did the Buena Vista Combo with zip lines, horseback riding, mud bath/sauna/hot tubs, and water slides. The kids did all of them solo and were not afraid or at least wanted to do them again once they found out how fun they were. Manny was our tour guide and he was excellent (very intelligent, friendly and knowledgeable about everything). The other tour we did was Palo Verde (Jungle Boat ride) which was much less taxing. Manny again assisted us. We saw all kinds of creatures and learned about their habitat. We had wonderful lunches on both tours (The best food we had the entire trip. Very authentic, nutritious food). Our trips to and from the Liberia airport where comfortable and on time. They were also far less expensive than others with the same quality of service, or at least close. They were also very quick to reply to my emails and enquiries before we left on our trip. I felt very comfortable with them as I did not know what to expect (first time in Costa Rica). We will use this tour company again when we return to the Papagayo Peninsula and the Four Seasons Resort (also very awesome). We decided we will return yearly if possible. Took a tour with two different companies. The first tour was with the resort suggested onsite company, which is one of the larger tour companies in Guanacaste/liberia. It was fine, but also scheduled a tour with Costa Rica Best Trips on a recommendation from a friend on his trip to costa rica. From first hand experience I can tell you that you want to book your trip with costa rica best trips. You'll pay the same amount or less, you'll get a much more personalized experience with a smaller group, the vans were in excellent condition and wife and I also felt very safe. We took took the Borinquen Combo Canopy tour.

Guide (Eyttell Porras) was very knowledgeable and spoke great English. I personally like to garden - a lot - and he went out of his way to point out all of the mango, avocado, trees and fauna - was very nice to know what I was looking at, and he was able to identify most of the birds simply by hearing them then hunting down the noteworthy birds after hearing their calls.

The only hiccup was a miscommunication on the pickup time at the resort, but on calling Costa Rica Best trips the owner of the company was at the resort within ten minutes (no small feat considering we were at the Riu and the office is near the airport). My family and I had the most amazing time on our excursions with Costa Rica Best Trips. With this being our first time in Costa Rica, we had no idea where to even start. We were lucky enough to schedule a ride from the airport to the condo with Costa Rica Best Trips and that’s where we met Ariel.

Ariel suggested the Hacienda Guachapalin Adventure, and within minutes of him telling us what was involved, we were in! He was an amazing tour guide, and our day was full of adventure and laughs! Zip lining, horseback riding, tubing, waterfalls, mud baths and hot springs all in one day, so much fun!!! Our family will cherish these memories forever.

Some of our family arrived a few days later so they weren’t able to go on the first excursion, but Marven and Milton took us to the Heliconias Rainforest and Hanging Bridge Tour. This is also a must see while in Costa Rica. Not only did we get to see lots of wildlife, but we were fortunate enough to see many sloths. Hiking in the rainforest with our family was magical. The hanging bridges were lots of fun too.

All in all we are so glad we chose Costa Rica Best Trips to do our excursions. There wasn’t enough time in our trip, or else we would have done more. We will absolutely recommend them to...
